http://spikedhumor.com/articles/137815/TED_Schools_Kill_Creativity.html Sir Ken Robinson begs the question: Do modern schools kill creativity.

Decent video but why must everyone misuse the phrase "begs the question"? Unless it's a joking insult directed at Robinson, like he's an uncreative product of the education system or something.

I wanted to post this. But since it has already been posted before I figured I'd just dig this thread up.
Ken Robinson gives a very interesting talk on creativity. Especially his anecdote about the little girl that became a world-famous dancer is amazing.
Have you found your passion? If not... How come? Are you still searching for your passion? Do you consider yourself to be a creative person??

I definitely agree with a lot of what he said. The public education system was created to produce workers, not to provide a medium through which children to learn & grow. Writing has always been a passion of mine, with abstract drawing/painting being a close second. I found public education to be completely frustrating, because they kept hammering at subjects that I knew I wasn't meant to explore, leading to poor grades in everything but language, creative writing & art.
I think there needs to be something in place in all public school systems that allows the students to explore & develop their gifts, thus perpetuating the beauty known as human ingenuity.

I did well in school but never paid attention. I was the kid that was always looking out the window.
I was trying to find this guy's book (Epiphany) on torrent but haven't been able to do so. If anyone knows where I can find it please send me a !
I've been watching lots of videos on TED today. Another interesting vid I watched is this one about a deaf percussionist. Evelyn Glennie
