Canned Juice?

So, My girlfriend and I decided to purchase frozen cans of juice, after reading that our favorite brand "ocean spray" cocktails are made from concentrate..
It is not the same, but still nice with dinner.
Is canned juice really a substitude for generic bottled juice?
(we dont have the money to buy organic all natural juices, so often end up with ocean spray fruit blends, or if we splurge, on good cranberry juice.)
Mostly what im wondering, is wether these frozen juices are loaded with preservatives or sweeteners which are less healthy than the bottled juices we regularily drink?

Read the labels. Ocean Spray cocktails are sweetened with high-fructose corn syrup, so I presume that their frozen concentrates are, too. "Cocktail" always means added sweeteners, so look for "100% juice" or "juice blend" if you don't want high-fructose corn syrup in your juice.
They probably do not have preservatives, but check the label to make sure. Both bottled juice AND frozen concentrates are pasteurized, which compromises the vitamin content, but the only way to avoid this is to make your own fresh juice.

Making fresh juice, is generally... beyond my capabilities right now.
We usually buy the juice blend... but remember 6 years ago, you could buy 100% cranberry juice. This seems to be a thing of the past, now a days.

that's because it's a lot cheaper to cut your juices with bullshit and sell them to the same dumb people who won't notice a change in the way their bodies react to it

yeah. i understand finances depict your diet more than you would like, as i have been there before, however, that stuff is garbage. you might as well drink soda. the only upside it has to soda is that is has no carbon dioxide in it.
as soon as you can, buy better stuff. in the meantime, drink water or tea instead.

This is what i suspected, thanks for the reply.
We just tried the canned juice this one time, hoping for the best - turns out it is artifically sweetened garbage. We will continue to treat ourselves with the expensive juices time to time, and stick with water in the meantime.

Word. Since it's winter here I drink as much tea as I possibly can to stay hydrated, then I don't end up craving all that other junk. Occasionally I'll buy bottled juices, but since I buy them so sparingly I can buy the good stuff, so it's kind of a treat.
Lately I've been drinking "Simply Lemonade" if I have the dough...it's so fucking good, electric fruit juice to the max.
One thing I've discovered recently is quality decreases quantity, ie I can eat my pancakes with a gallon of Mrs. Buttersworth or a tablespoon of delicious pure maple syrup or 16 ounces of crap juice or 8 of Tropicana OJ or Simply lemonade/OJ and be equally satiated physiologically and dramatically satiated taste-wise.

yeah... buy a used juicer (they're all over goodwill stores) and shop at the asian mart for cheap produce, and maybe it'll make you quit big national food stores too. best switch you'll ever make. or, i don't know of its a nationwide store or not but in seattle we have a store called trader joe's that has alot of natural foods and is cheaper than an ordinary grocery store... so shop there

Canned orange juice has no added sugar. Orange juice is generally a safe bet. Those tetra packs of sunripe are reasonably cheap enough too, and there are a lot of 100% juice varieties. Just read the label!
