very nice, i hate people like that randy, your at work, do the fucking job and be civil, it,s not too difficult, hopefully his lame ass gets fired
i,ve had a prostar laptop for around 7 years, treated it roughly, loaded all kinds of cracked software on it, still works fine although it is a an antique by todays standards, 5 gig hard drive
i have extensive experience with dealing with big companies, one time i sent back 2 high end tennis rackets that i had cracked both over the years just because i restrung them so many times, sent them in saying there was a possible design flaw, bam 2 brand new similiar new style rackets, have to look into the airline ticket thing though, never heard of that

holy hell!

I wish I would get shitty costumer service! free backup DVDs, a free fix, and a surprise? A SURPRISE?! thats so cool...

You've inspired me to complain to some company to get some free stuff. I thinking of where to complain to though...

We did this in family consumer science in 6th grade. I didn't get anything from the company I wrote to. Not even a reply...

I also wrote a letter to McDonalds telling them that their food is shitty and bad for you. they said

"we assure you, our food is made only with the most quality ingredients."...

$300-$500 dollars for free because you got bad service... thats luck right there.

....Americans have a course called family consumer science?....

I hate to sound like Jamie from Mythbusters...but...well theres your problem right there.

On a plus side its nice to find those companies that have a great customer service department.

All right, the story has reached its conclusion.

I brought my laptop back to the Apple Store yesterday and I don't feel bad at all about possibly getting someone fired, because Randy was a fucking moron. AJ, the tech support guy who looked at my computer this time, put so much more time into trying to figure out what was wrong, and found a quick and easy fix for my computer.

My logic board wasn't fried at all. Randy was an idiot. My computer is fine and I don't need to buy one at all.

And for my trouble they gave me a ProCare card, which essentially lets me skip the line any time I have a problem with my computer or iPod, and get repairs the same day instead of having to wait.

I hate companies that have those skip the line cards.

They should improve the customer service by getting it done faster and hiring more people so they don't have to wait. Not letting those with more money cut the line.

Dell and now Apple are companies I shall never buy from.

There comes a point when paying for more employees isn't worth it.
Do you think doctor's offices should hire more doctors so they can have walk in appointments?

No, but they also shouldn't say "Pay me $50 and I'll put you in front of everyone else."

I have gotten two free Inspiron 6800 laptops from Dell directly resulting from receiving lousy customer service on my 1 week to expiration inspiron 8100.  Free warranty extensions on hdd's and Samsung monitors.  Never underestimate the power of whining about things not working to your satisfaction.  Especially if you have responsibility for making purchasing recommendations/decisions.

But be sure to research a little about WHO you are writing to, personalize it enough to make them think twice about saying bugger off!

Also, remember that the customer service departments are usually working a THANKLESS job, a thank you can go a long ways... and even if your peeved at the company/corporate entity, don't take your frustration out on a soon-to-be aggravated CSR... You will catch far sweeter rewards.

Just this last week I got a grow tent in the mail, the instructions sucked HORRIBLY... The 4x4x7 ended up looking like a 3.6x3.6x7.5 I called them up worked out the details of assembly, and during the process i had dinged part of the tent and stretched the stitching in a corner.... bless their hearts, they're sending me new tent for FREE... even though In my mind I screwed it up.... That's the power of not yelling at someone who gets yelled at all the time w/o just cause.

Now if the agent is inspiring just cause, just switch to monosyllabic responses, that generally gets the point across and they shape up right quick!

Nice bump of a year old thread lol.

Might as well add this...

I don't complain to get free stuff, i call and tell companies how much i love their products to get free stuff. Just stuff like tombstone pizzas. I called them a few times to let them know how much i LOVE their pizzas, that at 2 am when im stoned outta my mind and working on a project for school tombstone pizzas are my best friend lol.

They sent me like 20 free tombstone pizza coupons for loving their product so much. :omgawesome:

Well, this wasn't a letter of complaint but...

Two summers ago me and three friends more or less lived together and then there were 10-15 more kids that would come over pretty much every night and occasionally we'd have parties with a bunch of people. So anyways, literally all we ate was Dominoes pizza.

We saved all the boxes from the whole summer and at the end I believe the final count was something like 396 boxes. We built a fort out of them and sent the company a letter with a polaroid picture of us standing in front of the fort attached and we got a bunch of free pizza.

What do I get for complaining about rehashed old thread?

I got 3 free months of HBO for the cable going out.

I'm gonna complain to All Points West about how shitty their "festival" was and ask for some money back.
