Hpoo pans done
    #7836940 - 01/05/08 07:11 PM (16 years, 27 days ago)

I have plenty of colonizing pans in the wait. I'm curious I have three spent Hpoo pans---can I take those 3 pans break them up into a larger pan and recase?

if they're spent they're spent. breaking them up would pretty much seal their fate as a mean green farm. the mycelium will definatly not have the ability to come back from that kinda shock that late in the game.

I have my first hpoo pan ever colonizing right now. its PESA spawned from a pint of WBS, I have it in a mini casing right now. I plan to case with 50/50.  The rhyzo growth that I am getting off the hpoo is amazing. I didn't have anything like this when the myc was growing in the jar and believe it is a direct result of the hpoo. I am definitly gonna get some of that in a petri.

How long are the colonization times of your trays from start to befing ready to lay a casing layer down?

a week is generally a good starting point. I give them 10 days because I feel no need to rush

Thought it might be something to try. I opened it up just now, and it is definitely spent. Looks pretty cool though, to see how the myc took what was rich, black composted manure and turned it into a soft light brown color. It sucked everything from it, there are barely any parts of the straw left.

cool. its only been in the tray like 4 days. Its almost half done so I figure I am looking at 10 days. The rhyzo is just unbelievable on this hpoo. I just made another tray with like a pound of hpoo and 1 quart of b+ wbs. I put it in the TiT, I am running out of room in there, but I got afoaf working on getting a full fridge to convert to a huge incubator. Its gonna be sweet! full speed ahead is my new years res. i need dried ounces to share with all!
