More to the point, why would you want to be a psychopath? You're question seemed to me to imply that you desire to be one...

you know i took mind altering drugs once... fucked me up good style, i was demented for a day, am I, in truth, demented?. Mind you, i took them another time and it was great! Maybe the truth is true even when its false and contradictory...

a while back for some reason i ended up reading the wiki page on psychopathy. a lot of what i read applied to me, maybe too much. i've always known i'm a little "off" but i didn't think psychopathy could be it.

i don't really want to discuss this much but a lot of times i find myself with some pretty odd thoughts, usually involving unprovoked violence. and i'm talking several times a day, most days. i walk around all day not really feeling anything at all.

let's just say that i honestly believe i may be at least somewhat psychopathic.

dude, most people in society are psycopathic. the fact that you are even aware of your thoughts puts you above most people - i bet you're a pretty normal guy if i were to run into you :heart:

that's the thing, i appear perfectly normal but i doubt everyone thinks like i do. there would be a lot less people if they did.

have you ever been sitting down at some coffee shop talking to a friend and then, out of the blue, you feel the need to bash their face in with a chair? no reason, you just feel like it. it happens to me all the time. every single day.

and i don't even feel angry or stressed or anything. just something i would like to do.

i really doubt this is normal. and the thing is i don't necessarily want to change.

that is exactly the case with everyone, believe it or not. everyone represses that part of them, it's part of human nature. everyone has those thoughts dormant in them and have probably entertained them from time to time. it does not mean anything - you're not acting on it, are you? nope.

you say you don't even feel stressed or angry, so it sounds like you're just having a little fun with your mind- maybe you're just bored? honestly, nowadays it would be hard to find someone who wouldn't fit under one of the many many vaguely defined mental illnesses. you're normal. don't change.

if you think you might be a psychopath, I suggest you talk to a therapist/psychologist about how you feel.

that's the best advice anyone on this board can give you

If you're worried about it and feel badly about it, you probably aren't a psychopath. Pyschopaths just don't care about other people's feeling or who they have hurt.

I fit the profile of a serial killer, but I haven't really killed that many people. I wouldn't worry about it.

Go to the doctor only if you're actually about to act out your impulse. If you're ever in doubt just look at your past, you haven't had an ill past so why should things be any different now?
