None, just dunk and roll
If you are going to crumble to hpoo, you are adding a nutritious substrate, and that is called spawning (the cakes are your spawn) to bulk substrate.
Casing is adding a non nutritious layer (be it 50/50 verm-peat or just verm). The casing doesn't add food to the mycelium just gives it humidity which helps it to fruit.
Quite a few people have compared the differences in fruiting between dunking and rolling the cakes in moist verm versus crumbling the cakes and casing them and hava found that there is very little if any extre yeild, and that by crumbling the cakes you:
a) risk more contams b) take longer to get fruits because the mycelium has to repair the damage made by crumbling (if you dunk and roll your cakes, they can start fruiting immediately) c) your mycelium wastes nutrients it could use to fruit because it has to use them to repair that damage.
On the other hand, crumbling to poo, enriched coir or another bulk substrate adds loads of new nutrients, and once the mycelium has colonized all that substrate it can make lots more fruits.
So, in conclusion, if you want the fruits as soon as possible, just dunk and roll and put the cakes in the fruiting chamber. If on the other hand you want a bigger yeild and feel confident that you can make bulk substrate without introducing contams, you could crumble the cakes to bulk, then case the bulk substrate and fruit.

DUNK baby DUNK !
then roll .... and let the vermiculite dry (adhere) to the cakes surface before you get too aggressive misting ....
Production will be much better with the dunk and roll.

Either way will be fine. I'm not the biggest fan of dunking and rolling, but many claim increased yields.
If you think you can pull it off without problems then go for it, otherwise just stick with the basics.

i recently would have said you will get more yield by casing with 50/50+ just based on what I've read in teks and experience, but I had bad luck with casings getting contaminated so I decided to dunk (under refrigeration) about 12 regular pf cakes and roll in verm.... got AMAZING yields, check out the pics!!!!!
To sum it up, Yes, just Dunk-n-Roll!!!

dude make a casing. all you do is crumble the cake and put it in a container and put a layer of casing mix over it. a good one i use is half verm, half peat moss.

I just got in two bags of peat and two of verm yesterday, This is what I will be using on my PESA hpoo casing in about a week. I have the hpoo that I spawned some WBS PESA to. I have it in my TiT on 81.5-83F. When it is fully colonized on top I am gonna put a 50/50 peat/verm on it and into the perlite!
