umm i dunno i think how the thing looks and its spore print are what scientist use to classify em...

but from what I've seen a majority of Amanitas have the same color spores...white.

To misidentify an A muscari or A muscaria v formosa, means you are a fucking idiot.
There arent any look-a-likes. There really are NOT.
If you are picking fully developed mushrooms, you shouldnt have any problem unless you are damn near retarded.
If you are picking shrooms, just know your shit.
There is nothing out there that looks like amanita muscaria. V formosa too for that matter.
Its the easiest mushroom to identify EVER.

yeah all of em have white spores... dude what you need to do is get a biology book or mycology book http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amanita
your not gona be able to tell an amanita M from another type from the spores without a micro scope first off

Well if your new to mushroom id's one red spotted mushroom will look like another to you. Just like people misidentifying inky caps for libs.
If you use proper IDing techniques then its easy to id a mushroom (usualy)

I was just saying that its the easiest mushroom to identify EVER.
Its right up there with cubes and the shrooms that have strange characteristics that stand out.
If you know what you are looking for?
There are shrooms that are hard to identify, and then there are amanita muscaria(s).
