The real question is who knew about them from day one, not from Fuse or MTV2 or some other crap like that.

*raises fucking hand*
sf has been one of my favorite bands since the start. by the time MTV/Fuse picked up on them i had almost lost interest. even the early demos.. man i miss being younger. my only regret metal wise is getting into pantera a year before they broke up and never got to see dime live.

i've seen shadows live 3 times tho ^_^

tbh man i listen to music for the over all sound. idk what any of you says, brian fair is an EXCELLENT vocalist, jon & matt play guitar riffs/solos i can only dream of writing and jason definitely isn't no damn slouch. with threads of life it is a bit poppier and imo an attempt to broaden their audence, but those driving riffs and awesome melodies i've grown to love from shadows fall are still there.

i listen to my fair share of metal too, i just don't ditch bands i used to like because something more 'core' comes around

also i'm not a fan of the 'black,' metal scene. honestly, children of bodom is about as far as i'll go. i love me some down, pantera, bls, shadows fall, etc though. i admit, i'm still stuck in the 80s-90s style.. bands who convey REAL thrash to me get my attention.

I'm pretty picky about my music there are a few black metal bands I listen to but I'm like you i prefer thrash and next after that the classics such as Iron Maiden, Dio, Motorhead, Judas Priest, so on..........

oh man for sure respect the classics, me too.  iron maiden put out the first songs i learned how to play.  i love classic rock, it's just taht radio doesn't have something the bands we listen to do.  it took a solid year to get rock104(gainesville) to play any zakk wylde.. thats another story tho

i think we'd get a long good:thumbup:

im kinda high tonite too so im not making sense sorry

I've been listening to Shadows Fall forever now.  I've seen them live probably a dozen times, and they always put on a great show

I saw Iron Maiden in 03 with Dio and Motorhead it was one of the best shows I saw right up there with the time I saw Judas Priest and Anthrax in 05, good times oh and Napalm Death was pretty cool too with Obituary.  GWAR always does great shows too!!!  :samurai:
