Chipping site....
    #7832729 - 01/04/08 05:06 PM (16 years, 28 days ago)

My community has 3 chipping sites, a place for people to take their tree branches and scrap wood and the city chips it all up and leaves it in piles for ppl to have. Would this be a good source of the right kind of wood chips?

i don't know about all trees, but i heard RR say that cedar has a natural antifungal agent in it. that would be bad for your fungus. sorry i couldn't be any more help than that.

Mixed wood is usually fine for outdoor patches. Try to watch for when they're chipping oak, alder, maple, etc., if you're wanting to use it for substrate bags.
