What to do with my greenhouse
    #7832298 - 01/04/08 03:15 PM (16 years, 28 days ago)

Well ive decided to take a little break from mushroom cultivation while I revise some new ideas and plan out another grow for this summer.

I have a 4 shelf greenhouse that is currently sitting in the garage unused. And was looking for some suggestions on what to grow.

Currently I plan to start:
organic tomatoes
green peppers and red peppers

I would really like to grow some San Pedro's as I have tried in the past, however had to abandon for various reasons. But other than that, I should have a little more room for some experimenting. Suggestions? (not really a fan of salvia or kratom as those have been considered)

Druggie.....

Grow Cacti...you don't really need the greenhouse, but fuck...

Someone else will have to help you...I only know about the more common psychoactives.

Food is k3y though.

Yeah especially given my geographic location, id just use the greenhouse to start the pups, then transplant them.

Hell I might stick to all vegies I just thought it might be cool to have something to eat with benefits other than nutritional :tongue2:

No need to put cacti in a greenhouse.

i'm sprouting some jalapenos and habaneros and they were fast, less than a week, and once they get big they will last as long as you care for them as they are perennial

i don't recommend putting cacti seeds outside in a greenhouse in the sun once they have sprouted, they are very sensitive to light when they are small.

true true.

maybe I wont even use my greenhouse for the cacti then, ill just put them in some small pots and cover them with syran wrap to make a mock-greenhouse environment for them. Thats what I did before and it seemed to work fairly well.

ill just save the greenhouse for my vegies then.

id suggest growing salvia anyways, if not for you, for someone else. preserve that little baby because it could be going extinct soon

I think that's an exaggeration. I mean asides from all the big companies distributing salvia leaf and extracts' plants there's lots of people online who grow it. Almost illegal doesn't = almost extinct.

Anyways I think it's great you have interest in peppers. They seem real easy to work with and this spring I'm going to start some plants up. I only know I'm gonna grow serrano peppers so far (mostly for salsa) but I'm trying to find more. Does anyone by chance know what kind of chili they use as "green chile" in mexican food dishes (ie: green chile burro, green chile enchilada)?

well once its full illegal you won't find it anywhere unless you take a jog to mexico and happen to find it, even then you won't get it back into the usa very easy. Lets also not forget salvia is sopposedly geneticly damaged, and doesn't flower very often, genetically it could continue to go downhill.

So in effect it will pretty much become extinct to anyone in society. So im just suggesting he grow one until its illegal and then set it free, in an attempt to preserve this plant outside of mexico.

He's just advocating more people aid in preservation, which is a good thing. The more people grow them, the less effect any illegalization has.

i'm not even that interested in salvia either, but have a cutting, not doing so well btw. just for the plant itself, ornamental.

as for cacti seedlings, i have successfully started many species including lophophora species in small tupperware containers with a loose lid about 2ft away from a fluoro and they did very well, no need for anything fancy.

when i have time i will take some pics. also make sure to get ORGANIC seeds, for your health, and grow them organically too if possible.
