Reynolds Oven bags suck donkey balls

I've been experimenting with using these type of bags for pasteurization of bulk substrate and casing mix. I have bought 4 boxes of these bags, 2 large size and 2 turkey size. So far, after my experimentation, these bags work very well except the seal on them is weak. The bags seem to rip very easy just by adding a small amount of weight inside. I opened one bag with my hand and my hand went through the seam. Now, I KNOW i barely put any pressure against the seam. Ok. round 2, i fill up a large size bag with maybe 1 quart of casing mix and the fucking bag seal breaks open, dumping casing mix on my floor.
reynolds bags suck, they need a better seal. I've noticed if I seal them with my own impulse sealer, they work really well.
end rant,.

For anyone reading this ^^^ and taking it to heart...wrap the bags in a few (1-3) layers of foil to act as a gradient. I sterilized wbs bags with this tek http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php?Cat=0&Board=Forum2&Number=2647751&Searchpage=1&Main=2647751&Words=%2Boven+%2Bbag+%2Btek&topic=&Search=true#Post2647751
more or less and with at least 3-5 pounds in each bag I had no problems that I noticed with the bag's integrity. I then knock with lc and place in boxes to get a nice blocky shape going. This post might be dead...but in case any noobs come across it and need to know the truth without negative opinions thrown in the mix.

I buy my filter patch bags for less than I could find oven bags.

Actually, it was a relevant post, so I think it's good that he bumped an old thread instead of making a new one. This board is already cluttered up with repeat threads, all with different information in them. If they're all condensed, it'll make searching more efficient.

Oven bags are weak and tear easily. They're also more expensive than the correct filter patch bags. There's far better materials for pasteurization, such as your pots and pans or totes. In addition, they suck for cooking turkeys too. RR
