Precisely, it's a psychological addiction, like gambling, but much more constructive

Not quite. For example with cigarettes, the nicotene replaces some receptors in your brain, which, when you don't get more nicotene, lead to cravings etc, hence a chemical addiction. With shrooms and others, we want to trip again because we want to feel the high again, not because of a chemical need.
I'm sure that didn't clear things up at all!

What part about the mushroom trip has nothing to do with the psilocin?

I ain't gonna tell no one they trip too much; No way, no how.
If they isn't doing me no harm, and they is happy, why try to put them in a place, reckon anyone?
I mean, itsa sure better than watchin' T.V. I think, and a whole bunch of art and music canna come frum deez drugs.
Keep on tripping'-lest the mushrooms knock ya down, down, down, down inTO something, Yee-haw! Rawhide!
It's hard to even resist myself sometimes, let alone the call of the mushroom.

nah man, as others said i dont feel like that at all. for me tripping is something i do on occasion and i dont really think about it otherwise. although a real good exprience can sometimes make me think differently where i do start to think about doing it more often but because of the more negative experiences ive had that have offset that it sort of balances out my want to do it. plus shrooms just arent that way for me in the first place really. i dunno, and i think for most people its this way, but from the beginning its like it just doesnt feel addictive like you describe it. the way you describe it sounds like you actually have an addiction to shrooms or something, haha. but anyway.. whatever...

I love psychedelia and the states of mind and thought it brings about.
On that note though, I only trip once every few months and usually don't have any mushies over summer (LSD season!).
I find that I need time to reflect also.. and I really don't think that people could be addicted to them in the sense that they NEED it to survive.. but I know exactly what you mean about wanting it!
But I want that experience in the same way that I want to read a good book, speak to an interesting person, watch an interesting doco etc. It teachs me things, and that's what I crave.
I never find myself sweating and getting aggro at work huddled in a corner coz I haven't had my psychedelic fix.
Plus I also find that I get nervous/butterflies before a trip.. it's such a huge, totally new, totally different.... totally enlightening experience!!! But with that sometimes comes unpleasant feelings.. anxiety, sadness and sometime realizing that the world is ever more complex than you ever thought, and now that you KNOW, you can't go back... and THEY DON'T UNDERSTAND! How can they?
I want to see a new psychedelic revolution.. first thing we need is to show the people the truths about drugs... and get people to understand that heroin and marijuana.. tobacco and psilocybin are all TOTALLY different substances with unique effects. I still hear people tell me that i'll go crazy from taking shrooms, and they're addictive and other stupid ignorant crap like that.

it's like this handsome face I have or a sensitive and dextrous hand I have and I really want to use them to engage with the world, but mostly I have to use more sober faces and hands.
it's more like identity than addiction.
it's like a good thing I want to be rather than a bad thing I am hooked on.
