i've notice for the last couple of years that im starting to go bald. it runs on both sides of my family and my oldest brother is 29 and it has really hit him.
im 23 years old.
does anyone here know what products work for hair loss? i've read a little bit and found out that most are scams. the only one that looks like it works is Metamucil.
has anyone had any experience with any?

isn't Metamucil a dietary fiber supplement?

i only know this because my brother takes it. yeah, it works for sure ... at least as far as poopies go.

I'm 22 and I'm a baldie too. :raises hand:
It runs in my family, plus I'm sure stress plays a HUGE part. Mine's going front to back. It's really starting to thin out and I can only use the "duck ass" hairstyle for so long before it's sloppy looking. I'm not going to try creams or any of that shit, and I sure don't have the money for implants, so I'm just going to shave my head. It really sucks, but I'm going to try my best not to let it bring me down. Lucky for me I'm a hat person, and always have been.

Well, first off, Metamucil is a fiber supplement, not a hair regrowth formula. I think you're thinking of Rogaine, which you could try, but it doesn't work for everyone, I'm afraid.

Rogaine works, and it's OTC. Not sure how expensive it is. It'll probably replace your money with hair.

I had a friend who swore by Rogaine (sp?). It won't make dead follicles come back to life, but it will stop them from dying (prevent further baldness).
Honestly though, I have been going bald since I was your age (I am now 36) and I have never found it to be an impediment when trying to score jobs, pussy, drugs, etc. Just be confidant about yourself and you won't have to shell out for expensive shampoo!

That's what I'm hoping. I mean I tend to win over friends, jobs, and ladies with my personality and sense of humor more than anything. After all, I've been chunky all my life (up until recently) and that's really doing a TON for my self esteem.

Shave it off when it starts looking weird. I'm 25 and i buzzed mine for the first time about a year ago,, it took a week to adjust to it but now it's fine. I think most people start at a 2 cut then go down to a 1.
If it's going it's going,, but honestly, if you get past your vanity it's not bad at all.

Mine is thinning too. From the front to back. I've got unmanagable hair anyways. Needless to say, i've always been a hat person. I'm pretty fucking young too. It's bullshit. Maybe i'll use the rogaine that I have.

I'm not even 20 and I'm balding. My friends tried to crack on me for it when they first noticed, but then they realized they noticed because I buzzed my head, so obviously I don't care. They gave that up. Doesn't bother me, although it's only been a problem for like a year, and I have the rest of my life to deal with it so it'll probably bother me down the line. Until then, oh well.

im not balding but have naturally thin hair. a couple years ago i read an article in mens health about shamppos that help with this the first one was some stuff with seaweed extract in it that you buy over the internet and it was very exspensive. but the runner up was lore'l vive for men daily thickening and ive been using it for 1 1/2 years and i can truly see a difference. but its not going to help grow new hair of course.

I have friends that use Rogaine and that Propecia pill shit, doesn't seem to help them. It's genetic and that's that.
However, being bald these days is considered cool and sexy by some. When I was a wee lad a bald person was an outright freak.

I'm not so worried about the fact that my hair is thinning it's just that I got these ugly as fuck moles on my dome.

im 22 and balding a lot. its starting to get really thin up top and im close to buzzing, but im gonna see my doctor soon to get a script for propecia.
It's not the style aspect of it that bothers me. I could care less, thats why i have let it go this long (started when i was 19). But now that its more noticeable my grandfather on my mothers side who is completely bald was telling me of all of the troubles that come without having any hair like sunburn, skin cancer, if you bump your head youll get HUGE gashes etc. He even said that he'd be willing to pay for my script.
...so im off to the doctor. My identical twin started taking it a couple months ago and his hair isnt as thin as mine.
Anyone know how much it costs/?

absolutely the best products for hairloss: not caring and buzzclippers.
its hair who gives a shit, its a social outfit at this point.. im 26, bald, and have been buzzing my head for 2 years now, it might be one of the best decisions ive ever made hahaha.

No. It's not just a social outfit. There are lots of really bad aspects to losing your hair other than looks.

guys, i said what three posts up. (edit, nvm)
it's not like ive experienced these things yet, but ive bene told from experience by someone who has. my dad is totally bald, as is my grandfather.
ive hit my head hard on things that wouldve removed a lot of skin if it werent for my hair.
also, severe sunburn and a higher risk for skin cancer is a big concern.
These things dont make life unbearable or anything, but propecia might just be 'worth' it. It's just a pill. I tried rogain a long time ago. Rogain sucks balls. I hate the smell of it, the feel of it. If you sweat it runs down your face like product. Nasty. But a pill? cmon.

oh c'mon people...let's not fucking kid ourselves.
Going bald DOES suck. sure just like anything else in life, the more you dwell on the suckyness of the matter the harder you inevitably make things for yourself. i used to say to people "who cares about hair? it's just the stuff that grows on the top of your head."
but honestly once i started growing it out during the last few years, i realized that having longer hair is fun, it's comforting..and once you get used to it then it really suck balls to suddenly start losing it. I went through some really strenuous shit this last year, and surely enough my hair started falling out seemingly all-at-once. freaky shit. when i'd wash my hair in the shower, the amount of hair that had fallen out down onto the bathtub afterwards was disturbingly shocking. So yeah, it is true that STRESS is just as much a factor as anything I believe.
i started seeing a dermatologist who gave me some magic shampoos and some liquid drops for my scalp..but i soon disccovered that he was a lousy douchefag and that his whole practice was nothing more than a daily operation, a fucking scam. they'd come into the room with this huge UV ray mechanism (or something), put goggles over my eyes and wave this absurd contraption over my head then the dermy would come in and keenly observe my scalp with some magnified lens and feign enthusiasm to me ("oh this is great! wow! amazing progress coming along here, this is terrific!"). He told me that this shampoo would help cleanse the scalp and keep things healthy. he also told me to not worry about all the hair that falls out, because it's just all dead hair anyways that will fall out sooner or later...thanks a mil doc for helping me LOSE what little hair i have left FASTER. wow what divine logic. what a dirty cunt weasle. this was all several months ago, and of course i've only lost tons and tons more hair since then He did actually mention it being entirely possible, and in young people even likely, to not only halt the baldness but actually GROW some of those lost hairs back. again, dirty fucking cunt weasle. i've heard from plenty of other people that this notion simply isnt true or possible.
to make things worse, i look like a fucking retard when wearing hats and i also have a few unsightly freckles on my dome. awesome. and let's be honest, chicks dig hair. it's a fact. but if you guys can all get on with your lives just the same, feel just as good about yourselves, pull just as much pussy, etc...then MORE POWER TO YOU.
peace.
