i don't know what I'm doing wrong but I have had my cake in the fruiting chamber for a week and I've only had aborts. I picked them all...and ate them.
So what causes aborts? i've read not enough humidity. Is this my problem?

If it was only in the FC for a week how do you know they were aborts?
Was the head black or did it just stop growing?

lol..seriously. sounds like your confused. if they werent black you shoulda left them alone!! once i had a small mushroom. size of a pencil eraser, that just never grew. never turned black. all around it they grew. i let him sit for a while, never turned black. never got bigger, just picked it.

o! so they weren't aborts! Fuck. well, I tripped hard on what I picked thats the good news. The bad news is I could have tripped a lot harder and with friends in probably a week or so. Damn the man.
Anyways, now I know. When I have new pins grow and looking like they stop growing, to just let them sit.
I *thought* they looked black, but they might have been dark brown. And i probably just *thought* they were aborts. ooooppps.

Untill the heads turn black, they are not aborts, i always leave what i suspect to be aborts for an extra day or 2 just tomake sure.
Aborts heads will turn grey/black. Healthy pins will be from red to dark orange (bear in mind that some strains start of with a cream head, lipa yia is one)
