My friend and I had decided to fruit without using a heater. The room being used for fruiting is no warmer than 60 and usually around 57. Still, with the low temperatures, it is only taking a week for the tubs to pin and about a week for them to mature. I have been impressed that even at low temps, they fruit really well. Strains so far: B+, Cambodian, and Oak Ridge. Also, potency seems to be a tad bit more than those that were fruited at 74 degrees.

I have never had a problem fruiting at below optimal temperatures, RR has stated several times that temp drops dont seem to effect pinning, fruiting at below and above colinisation has had little effect on pinning.
so its not really considered a pinning triger.
Also i have followed a discussion recently on how fruiting temperature can effect the density of fruits produced. Where higher temps can produce fruites with more likley to have hollow stems, and lower temps less likley.
Im not saying that this is true, i jsut know it was recently looked at.
Whether or not it is definatly true, lower temperatures will work fine, the worst that will happen is slower growing. They wills till fruit.
Potency is interesting, im assuming that the fruits that were sampled were of the same weight, and you were allowing for tolerence.
For a good test i would say that it would have to be tested for a long period of time with consumption only occoring once a month, same weight and from a grow of an isolated strain, so that the exact same strain was being eatin.
I would also eliminate drying aswell and eat them fresh.

Thats good to know. I just started my first grow today and my fuse blew after I turned on my heater... I can just imagine how much this thing is gonna cost me.

Truly I do, at least in general, but there needs to be some kind of oversight in recognition of sustainability. Life works the same way, on a bunch of sustainable systems.
