Does anyone here practice Kundalini Yoga?

My friend's sister dragged me to Yoga West in los angeles when I was up there visiting my family. Her friend's father is a guru. Full on bearded swami. He sits up there and tells you to be strong, then you do these amazing exercises, chants, stretches... parts of it were so amazing, felt absolutely as good as rolling. Honestly I had a hippyflip on new year's eve and I'd value my kundalini experience as more pleasurable and more mystical (perhaps I just didn't dose high enough )
I'm going to start going weekly. Its expensive, 50 bucks a month, but i think it'll pay dividends--make me STRONG. Its rad. Anyone practice?

Day and night i strengthen my kundalini force. Its the reason i started eating meat again.
50 bucks seems so expensive though what does he teach you? I am learning so much just by using intuition.

Well I've only been twice. But he talked about finding a reason for living, and then making an absolute commitment to it, a guarantee. As I am a lazy person, and oftentimes flakey and even paranoid, this stuff sounds like pure gold to me. We'll see how well it works.
What do you mean by intuition?

Why would you eat meat to raise kundalini? Most yogi's don't eat meat It's impure
It's amazing that he was able to help you raise your kunalini, Noviseer. Do you remember any of the poses or chants that he taught you? I have a book on Kundalini yoga, but I was under the impression it was a very, very advanced form of yoga. Soon, I want to start working with pranayam (the breath yoga type thing). I practice hatha yoga, but I've never attended an actual yoga class (although I plan to). I did, however attend a Kirtan, led by Bhagavan Das. And let me tell you, THAT was High. There was SO, SO much shakti in that room. It was very much like tripping.

Kundalini is an advanced form of yoga, sure, and there is a lot of potential there, but you don't need to be some kind of master to attend a class. Its for everyone--these states of unity are our birthright.
From what I can remember, we started the class by sitting up straight in easy pose and chanting. I didn't know the chant, but it was basically a looong ohm exhalation, with a couple of pitch changes at the end. Repeated three times. Then we settled down and he gave his sermon for a good hour. Talked about action, courage, fear, love, reincarnation, the soul, the universe, all kinds of topics. it just flowed.
then we sat cross legged and swiveled around in circles. All kinds of poses after that, can't really recall anything specific, and they're hard to describe in text. But it felt absolutely amazing, like I was swimming in bliss. I can't wait for next tuesday

nope. Bhagavan Das is the guy who introduced Ram Dass to Neem Karoli Baba

In India, it's believed that a very high guru can raise Kundalini in a person with just a look.

Neem Karoli Baba is one of those kinds of guru Just try looking at a picture of him when you're feeling angry, or full of self-pity, or sadness, or anything.

You know, I'm not really sure where he's from. Someone on the P&S forum suggested I look him up. He's got a few videos up on Youtube though, you can get a feel of him through the videos but of course it doesn't compare to being there. It would be such a gift to meet one of these teachers, for sure! You're very lucky, dirtworshipper.

kundalini energy starts at the base of our spines. Our first chakras hold a red energy that is very powerful. This is the reason for red meat in my diet. It is right to say that red meat does nothing for the third eye or the higher chakras. But if thinking of kundalini force as a volcano the more energy I collect in my first chakra the easier it is to explode and unleash the power of the kundalini.
Intuition tells me that body mind connection is always there. to make these exercises fun by music and chanting. To put high strain on body for high gains. To use the divine matrix to feel I am making a difference.

I'll be looking Mooji up soon.
I've never met Neem Karoli baba. He isn't in his body anymore. Not the same body, at least. But somehow, that doesn't seem to matter. The Love goes on and on and on and on. I just finished reading a book compiled by Ram Dass about Maharajji (Neem Karoli Baba). It's basically a collection of stories from his devoties, friends, loved ones, strangers, etc. It is quite an amazing read. It almost feels as if I have met him, at least on some level.
I feel that I'm very lucky that I got to sing and chant with one of Maharajji's devoties, Bhagavan Das. He has very, very strong and pure devotion and love. Bhagavan Das' book (It's here now (are you?)) is absolutely beautiful too.
