Oyster straw log FAE enough?
    #7828845 - 01/03/08 06:52 PM (16 years, 29 days ago)

I have a couple oyster straw logs fruiting and learned that I need better FAE. So I have loosely draped plastic with slits cut over the logs with an additional larger hole cut out the top. Will venting and misting 3x a day be sufficient now with the larger hole at top?

This might be better asked in the gourmet and medicinal mushrooms section, someone may be along to move it soon

Stop experimenting half way through your first grow. Grow it to maturity, watch it, learn from it. Do this a few times then experiment with different ideas and figure out what works best for you.

I'd cut a few more of those fist sized holes. Oysters can stand a low humidity much better than they can stand a high CO2 level.

I should have thought about this before i posted, i remember reading several posts on oysters, they are very intolerant of C02.
