Hard to see
    #7828110 - 01/03/08 03:55 PM (16 years, 29 days ago)

It's difficult to interact with friends and family with a high degree of clarity, for me at least. The longer I've known someone, the harder it is to break out of set patterns of interaction - which are usually based on wrong views.

If you have glimpses of unitive awareness, don't use them to feed the ego. Don't make the awareness "yours" and then play the game of being the enlightened being leading the unenlightened. It is an easy thing to fall into but it takes you out of immersion in the present and furthers the illusion of separateness. This has been true in my experience, anyway.

“Strengthened by contemplation and study,
I will not fear my passions like a coward.
My body I will give to pleasures,
to diversions that I’ve dreamed of,
to the most daring erotic desires,
to the lustful impulses of my blood, without
any fear at all, for whenever I will—
and I will have the will, strengthened
as I’ll be with contemplation and study—
at the crucial moments I’ll recover
my spirit as was before: ascetic.”

I will if I want to. I'm enlightened and I worked my ass off for it. Just because the rest of you slobs don't have what it takes to be one with everything, I'm not going to pussy foot around your failures without letting you know just exactly what the truth is here.
