Small-Cap Watchlist for Tuesday 10/24/23 $PRZO Lost 2.00 support and fell apart. No interest now. $ICU Fell apart. No interest now.
$HUBC Inside day. Held 0.60 well. This is still a main watch for the next few days $AUMN Gold mining company steady trending. $INVO Closed up 290% on merger news. Looking for a day 2 short tomorrow.
Hoping the market holds this low. If we start bouncing from here, should see some more risk-on in small caps.

Yikes... The IWM does not paint a pretty picture my friend. Lost its 50 day MA in mid August and now being held down under its 20 day. It is extended to the downside, and likely due for some sort of relief rally since it's now testing its 2021 lows, but the small cap system is broken and not where I would want to concentrate capital outside of very short duration technical trades that are kept on an extremely tight leash.
Only traditional sector I see hanging in there is oil (XOP), at its 50 day now. Market is not healthy. S&P ricocheting right off the underside of its 50 day last week, now below its 200. Not a market I want any piece of. Cash is a position! US Treasury Series I bonds are yielding close to 5%. Lots of bank CD's getting close to that rate as well.
But crypto, I really hope y'all got some. It's a wild ride, but it looks set well to keep moving up.

Caution heeded. Have tightened up All stops, and am pretty much set to be all cash by today, outside of MARA

I appreciate the warning! We trade intra-day volatility / range. I almost never hold a small cap overnight. Overnight risk is too great; either a surprise news article or offering can really send price against you long or short.
I am looking to put myself in trades that offer "Risk Aversion." I can risk a little, to make more. (R:R 1:3+). Small caps provide these opportunities almost daily, which has been a blast so far! The edge is on the short side, the expertise is not being early.
$INM is a great example from today. Excellent opportunity short imo.
$AUMN and $INVO from last night's watchlist were nice faders. Watchlist for Wed 10/25/23 $INM - Everyone who longed 1.40s - 1.50s got smoked into close. Looking for a morning pop under 1.40 for a short.
$MULN - As trash a name as it gets. Would love this thing to gap up and push 0.50 early morning before some fade.
$MARA - Bitcoin name I know you guys are playing. They released a $750M Shelf Form S-3 afterhours. They will use the BTC hype to dilute. I'd watch for a disconnect from BTC on this, and could stay very heavy when they start selling paper. May not be tomorrow. I'll use 9.85 as a guide.
Excited for tomorrow. Range has been great.

Stopped out of pretty much everything except VZ. Made a pretty good rebound on some stocks which have been down before they did exit. The past few mo the haven’t been so kind, so whatever all cash again. Might hop into gold since I’ve really not nothing else in mind at this time.
The plan was to build long term positions in stable companies and just forget about this Roth for a while but I am going to wait on it until things seem a bit less turbulent

Good to see 3M up today after earnings. Hopefully, the start of a nice turn around up! This Friday I'll probably buy some Fortinet (FTNT) and Rivian (RIVN).

I see you like to gamble, as you seek to buy right before earnings? FTNT on 11/2, RIVN on 11/7. Not my cup of tea for a trade, although I'll hold over earnings if I believe in the long story. But if you're buying right ahead of a report, you'd best recognize that it's more or less a lotto ticket (not that there's anything wrong with that, suffice it to say that it's not a disciplined way to trade).
Also, with RIVN and FTNT below all major moving averages, I'd have to wonder what you find compelling about them? What's your time frame? And hopefully you will be keeping a stop below the current bottoms at $16 and $55 respectively?
MARA not down much on the secondary dilution. Still tracking above its bollinger band complex and above yesterday's low. I suspect if it does fall, the 8 day EMA will support price. Crypto just has a lot of momentum right now. If we get near yesterday's highs though, I'm going to take half of my Dec options off for the +100%, and set a stop on the second half below today's intraday low.

With crypto pushing higher, I already have a right profitable options trade I put on MARA via Dec $9 calls on Monday... unfortunately their intention to dilute shareholders with up to $750M of secondary issuance is putting a bit of a lid on it. My trade is still fine, but I should have taken more profits when I had an overnight double yesterday morning as noted above.
RIOT however, isn't suffering from the same overhang and has a better technical setup. Since crypto looks to be pushing higher again today, I'm taking a large common stock position in RIOT with a stop just under VWAP @ $10.79 (entry @ $11). Minimal risk, and if crypto does push through its recent highs, this should be a very nice trade.
Edit: RIOT to new highs on the day, stops up to $10.85 and will look to move stop to breakeven on a move above yesterday's high of $11.37.
Edit 2: While the trade was marginally profitable for a while, BTC's short-term ricochet reversal @ $35K busted it. Stopped out for an insignificant loss. Longer term folks who don't have any crypto exposure might still want to hold some of this here. However, I was just trying for a quick scalp and it didn't play in my favor, so I'm out for now.

Holy smokes Geo I wish I had your crystal ball (aka trading acumen) - the markets look like hell. Am very grateful to have set those tight stops. Plan remains the same to just wait some of this turbulence out before getting off the pile of cash - so 5-10 year timeframe

Watchlist for Thursday 10/26/23
$HUBC - Today looked like the day, but the 0.80 level is strong resistance. Unless volume really picks up, this probably fades a bit after the failed breakout attempt.
$LIAN - Day 3 tomorrow. Trapped some shorts for sure. Would love a para move 4.5 - 5+
I don't like to predict anything, but SPY feels like we may need hardhats soon.

Alert @ $3.75. Would take the trade on a move above that level with a very tight trailing stop.

WWE damn near beats out the QQQs.
Looks like I bought EDR instead of TKO. I forget how the holding company work, but one owns a substantial chunk of the other. EDR is going private today +25% premarket, up 10% on the stock. Take what I can get in this market.

Smallcap watchlist for Friday 10/27/23 $LIAN - Radar for a First Red Day. Would prefer mid 4s+ first $ICU - Surprised people afterhours. 1.24 resistance. $HUBC - Keeping shorts involved each day, but not dying. 0.80 still key.
Happy Friday!

Ford took a big hit yesterday, looks very tempting to jump in, DIS is still hovering around 10 year lows. Trying to figure out different plays for a long term safe account and others for a short term gambling account.
With all the war heating up I am hearing different rumors that the fed is going to turn the money printer back on soon.
Starting to think it may be time to hedge against big tech but at the same time if rate cuts are coming sooner rather then later it may cause another rally.
Many different possibilities for the future, starting to re evaluate how to diversify to benefit from all different scenarios. I keep feeling that high yielding dividend stocks are the way to go

I wouldn't think it's gambling even though earning are coming up. I bought Rivian after the 25% drop. Hence, it has dropped another 10% since I'll continue to buy more. I'm seeing more Rivian trucks and SUVs on the roads and they look nice. Very wide too. I'd definitely buy a Rivian over the Tesla Cybertruck. I'm not too concerned about the competition since I believe Rivian customer base will grow regardless if Elon continues price cuts.
Fortinet dropped 25% after their last earning report and it has gone up and back down resulting in staying flat. I buy at the low of $56.30 and will continue to hold because cybersecurity isn't going to fade. Companies need to incorporate it to survive in the digital world we live in today. I buy stocks outright, so no option plays. No stops either as I don't want to be cut out on a drop and quick reversal.

Alright, so long as you have a plan, I can dig it. I still don't like adding to anything that has moved against me. If it moved against me, it means I was wrong on my original entry. I don't like doubling down on being wrong. But I suppose if you're die hard committed to a company for a very long time period and want to dollar cost average down, I guess I can understand that... not something I would want to do, and definitely not right in front of earnings, because earnings are always a huge wildcard.

Some interesting volume coming into TSLA this morning. Make no mistake, this stock is in a pretty major downtrend at the moment, but sometimes bottom fishing can offer a quick reversion trade. I think that's what we're seeing today. I got in at $200 with an initial stop at $197.41. The Nasdaq is also attempting to bounce off of its 200 day EMA. 8 day EMA on TSLA, which is currently at yesterday's open just over $210, will likely be short term resistance. So in essence, I'm looking for a ~5% move here, but will ratchet up stops as the trade works, and may of course get taken out prematurely.
Trade small, or not at all. The equity market is not healthy.
Edit: Trade busted, that was quick. Yeesh.
