Tesla was overvalued but for sure isn't a meme stock. Little debt and huge unlimited cash generation potential for decades.

geokills said: I didn't look at all into what EVEN even is... just pulling up the chart gave me nightmares. So many gaps and so little liquidity. I wouldn't touch it for those reasons alone.
EVEN is a 2x levered equal weight S&P ETF by Direxion (same company that provides SOXL, QQQE, GUSH.) Yeah, it looks illiquid now but it’s new and started up at the start of the correction. QQQE looked that way too back when it started and so did SOXL to an extent. The reason equal weight S&P exposure intrigues me is because I don’t know how well facebook and Netflix are going to perform in the next bull run and I’m not sure what the next reshuffle is going to look like. 2x leveraged S&P funds like SSO seem to hold up pretty well and if you are good about taking profit and/or switching over to non-leveraged ETFs at some point, you can hold something like SSO for a year or more swing trade with awesome results. Let’s be real.. history has shown that somebody could hold a 2x like SSO for long periods of time with apparently not much more risk than SPY and it’s somewhere in a grey area between the leveraged funds your mom warned you about and something like a Vanguard fund. How much less downside risk would you have with an equal weight S&P fund? I mean RSP is doing just fine compared to SPY so the underlying should be fine. My only fear with EVEN is that it might get rolled up if the second half of this S&P correction is as bad as I think it might be because I don’t know what Direxion might do compared to how ProShares managed SSO. Direxion does have a lot of niche, weird products and some (expectedly) capitulate but this, if it functions correctly, does not appear to be that at all. I know a big factor is the fund management quality and that factor is not lost on me. I just can’t forget that SSO survived 2008 and survived it well. One could have bought SSO in the worst of the 2008 trough for the equivalent of 3 dollars a share compared to what it is now, treated it like any other ETF and not even managed it all for over 10x in 12 years. With management and profit taking via transfer to non-levered equivalents or cash and rebuy strategies..i mean…JS.

A bit of a squeeze and expansion, but I wouldn't call KORU a breakout just yet, as it is still below the 11/11 - 11/15 highs, which is part of the base its been creating under the 200 day MA's (which it is still below). I think if you're patient and want to buy this in anticipation of breaking out above its 200 day, you'll probably get a chance to pick some up < $9 (currently @ $9.47).
MDC, that real estate developer I was adding to last week, has now moved above its 200 day MA, and still carries a respectable yield. This is a nice one to just sit on I think, and I intend to add to it on subsequent weakness.
SSO performing well today, although not much going on intraday so far. Economic reports out tomorrow that may move the market, so I have pushed my stop on this position up to today's low just under $46.50 and will likely cut the position in half before the close if I'm not stopped out.
KGC still marking time, carving out a flag after its bounce out of the 200 day MA range. I am still comfortable here, and expect that it will see follow through to the upside in due time.
TSLA, in accordance with my iron condor suggestion yesterday, I have an order out to sell some call spreads against TSLA, specifically selling the January 20th $126 call and buying the $127 as insurance, for a net credit of $0.40. We could still see a push to $130 if the econ data tomorrow is favorable and the overall market cooperates, but that would be a ~30% run inside of a week on this stock, which begs for a bit of backfilling, especially in light of earnings coming up on the 25th of the month (also why I chose a spread date that expires before the report).

Also, can't in good conscience buy it up here on the daily chart... but the RH weekly chart is looking primed for a a really nice prolonged run higher. Would like to get a piece of this closer to $300 to sit on for the whole year.

Got a partial fill right at the close on those Jan 20 $126/$127 TSLA bear call spreads for $0.40. Only about 20% of my intended position size though. If TSLA runs tomorrow, I will sell a higher spread, as I'm expecting TSLA to have limited upside here prior to its earnings report on the 25th.
Selling theta decay (aka "time premium")... it's what the pro's do.

Closed out SSO on the morning pop for a nice three day gain 4.5%. KGC and XOM just slowly grinding slightly higher.
Too bad I didn't get my complete fill on those TSLA bear call spreads, as it couldn't even muster a pop into the green this morning. Almost went directional short, but I was a little late to my desk and don't have the stomach to handle an active trade on the opening rotation right now.
Took a little UVXY common @ $5.86 ($0.05 above its all time low), figuring I can scalp a few % on this one today. It will only be a day trade.

Added to XOM and KGC. All SSO & UVXY has been disposed of profitably. SPY hitting its head on the 200 day, expecting a bit of sideways grind or backfilling for the balance of the week.
Also have a bid out on some April $240 MSFT calls, fishing for a small initial position, as I don't want to go in gangbusters ahead of earnings on the 24th, but I would nevertheless like to have a position. I've been very impressed with OpenAI's ChatGPT dialogue based artificial intelligence. Apparently so is Microsoft, having paid $10 billion for a 49% stake in OpenAI, in addition to 75% of the company's profits until their investment is recouped. I've been wanting to get a "pure play" on AI, but for now, this will have to do as a placeholder. I think OpenAI's product, once polished and rolled out at scale, could easily give GOOGL a run for their money on search dominance, amongst other things.

Yes microsoft continues to make sizable investments into AI and deep/machine learning and such many of which have seen rapid development with some really exciting applications across untold numbers of industries. The growth potential here is enormous. As such Microsoft remains a solid blue chip as a proven flagship of the industry continuing to steer its massive heaps of money around into the future.

Indeed it is... I'm playing that sector via my XOM April $115 calls, that I've been steadily building this week. Added a couple more just now in fact.
KGC closing at its highs after doin' a li'l morning dip to test support at its 8 day EMA (didn't even tag it to be honest). Common up nicely and Feb calls up a solid 30%.
I moved down my strikes, shooting for a $0.50 credit on some Jan 20 $124/$125 bear call credit spreads. I've been within the daily range for this order to execute but it just won't fill. I know better than to chase these things though! If it fills, great. If not, I'm not going to violate my risk/reward calculus just to put the position on.
Some old favorites TLRY and MARA have been having a great time these past couple of weeks. They were so beaten down. Unfortunately, I did not load up on the weakness, and am not about to chase them here... but if they pull back and bounce for a higher high, I might consider leaning in a bit.

There's mainstream talk of a squeeze on BBBY..up a few bucks at time of this writing. If it seems crazy remember that Hertz had some wild rips well after their bankruptcy announcements. Of course, that was in a fomo rich market.

Interesting move. Looked at selling some bear call spreads that would expire well after any blowoff, but the premiums are so distorted and spreads so wide that I wouldn't get any sort of reasonable fill. Can't in good conscience buy it 5 minutes into the close, but I have loaded it up on my day trade screen for tomorrow.
Those TSLA spreads are so close to a fill... come on! I'm asking for both the Jan 20 $124/$125 @ $0.50 credit and adding to my existing Jan 20 $126/$127's @ $0.40. Someone fill me!
