Maybe I still should it's still up $40 but I dunno, its such a weird time you'd think silver would go up with the greedflation

Sold a couple Dec $25 puts on AEHR @ $1. Would be happy to buy this for an adjusted $24/share, as that would be just under its 20 day moving average. If that does get put to me, I have plenty of room to sell more puts in attempts to accumulate closer to the stock's 50 day moving average @ ~$20. These guys have carved out a huge cup this year, and as they just broke to a new all time high, I think this one could have legs for a much larger long term move.
TLRY pumped to $5.12 so far today, barely missing my fill on those $5 weekly short calls @ $0.50. I'm just going to let it do its thing. Kind of tempted to take half off here, but if cannabis legislation continues to look promising, you will want to have exposure here, and so I'll just wait since I have a solid 17%+ profit cushion in the trade already.

In canada they privitised cannabis legalization and a zillion different cannabis shops opened up, theres 2 on every street corner, I dont know how they compete with each other and bring in any significant monnies
It should have been like the liquor store where only the state can run it, and bring in provincial revenue, and only been like 1 -2 in my town

The stock market really took a dive today, and put me in the hole $250. I should have covered like Geo suggested, with stops. I will next time.
I'm sure things could be worse, but I hope this doesn't happen again tomorrow. The country seems to be in a pickle.

Short term, I would expect a probable ~4% of additional downside on the S&P 500, equating to a potential pullback to $380 on SPY. But we are also just about to tag the S&P's 20 day moving average, which has been playing short-term support for the past six weeks, so that may result in a little reflexive bounce toward the top of the range that nimble day traders traders may be able to take advantage of (I'll be watching TNK, SHOP, AEHR, FSLR and ENPH in particular).
Overall though, I'm expecting that we generally fart around for a week or two and hopefully see a tightening of the range (aka a volatility squeeze) around $390-$400 SPY. Ultimately, I want to see a bit of backfilling and base building before continuing to move up, as that raises the average cost basis of market participants which in turn strengthens the range as support, raising confidence IF we breakout, such that traders with hot hands will tend to hold their trades a bit longer, thus making for a more sustainable move higher over the intermediate term.

Rather poor tape today. Round tripped the TLRY trade, which was up 20%+ in three days at one point yesterday when my short calls failed to trigger. I was definitely being a bit greedy, fishing for $0.50 on the weekly $5's. At $0.40, which would have easily filled, that would have been a 10% yield in 4 days. Oops.
Smoke 'em if you got 'em.

I think the next year is going to be a year of realizing that the whole economy is dead in the water and industrialization has moved to China while we sort out our ethnic issues.

Ehhh, look, I know politics can play a hand in the markets, but let's stay focused and minimal on outright speculation here. Fact of the matter is, the US is still a dominant global player with a lot of capital (and capital capacity) sloshing around. Maybe the domestic economy does putter out, maybe China takes the lead, but there will still be opportunities here in domestic markets, even if the thesis pivots toward those whom are most effective in utilizing the changing of the guard.
Regardless of all that, we trade the market that is in front of us. Not the market we wish were here, or that we maybe think could be here in some yet to be determined future. In trading, all that really matters is what the crowd believes, right here, right now.

In keeping with methodical patience, I sold a couple Dec $22.50 puts on AEHR @ $1, to go alongside the couple Dec $25's I sold earlier in the week. I don't have any of these shares on my books yet, and I want to own some longer term. We are coming in toward the stock's 50 day moving average, and selling puts will either accumulate shares for me, or generate yield during the interim.

Also took a common position on TNK @ $31.74. Been watching this Canadian oil & gas tanker company for a bit as it's been moving sideways. Saw it tease a breakout on Monday only to fall back to its 50 day. The 50 day is right at the bottom of its post-earnings sideways trading range, which allows me to start a position with a tight stop (presently at the 11/11 post-earnings low of $30.73). If we look to close above the 50 day at the end of the day, I will add to the position and raise my stop to the low of the day. Not expecting this thing to rocket higher, but I do like low risk entries!

Blows my mind to see CVNA at around 4.00. Can you imagine buying a long term put or two when it was around 300? It would have been pretty logical to do this at the time based on valuation metrics. What a classic wall street trade that would have been.

Alibaba has been in the shitter for feels like years a long grind down. Insane to see it at below 100 but but no surprise as at one point for seemingly no logical reason it was insanely overbought. Just always seemed like a really shitty company idfk but they made some rather smart acquisitions but i think they over paid for aome but the merger with tencent makes alot of sense but surely will bring thier operations under alot of anti trust scrutiny if they don't bribe the right people or however it works over there. Also no surprise it's rising with the whole China covid shitshow nightmare easing but but shit has been hitting the fan over there pretty hard recently for all we know we could be looking at some type of major meltdown or revolution or some shit over there.

Yeah it was pretty overvalued, it really got caught up in the Chinese pump and crash saga of the last two three years that has been interesting af and could be the subject of a whole thread here. BABA is kind of an outlier though imo.. It was overvalued but I think they have always at least been profitable and were way more transparent and 'western' of a company than any other chinese company I know of. Unfortunately Jack Ma got on the wrong side of the CCP because he wasn't a complete tool for them so there goes probably the only decent investment a person can make in the Chinese market. Other than BABA I don't trust a single one of em.. Just look at the Luckin coffee disaster.. If you know China at all you know that kind of thing is not uncommon. Long puts all day.
I'm currently working on some Chinese pumps into offerings for intraday shorts but this niche is currently getting crowded. Lots of these are hard to borrow and predatory firms are definitely manipulating these tickers, smoking shorts with massive whipsaws..i call em the morning zipper pattern and I have seen them escalate to the point of getting halted up and more than one youtube short trader got their career biggest losses on these nasty buggers.
