I'd be a bit cautious and maybe stick to only trading with a set dollar amount such as $1000 or something for a while.

If you're just starting out then those lessons and losses will be much more forgiving trading 1k vs 4k

Just my opinion

I think it would be easier to get emotionally attached to a larger amount of money and make mistakes you otherwise might not make, but again, maybe that's just me

Totally respect that. Thank you

Reminds me of the Mariana Trench. Even with our technology I don’t think it’s possible to survive such depths

I made a small profit again today day trading.

I can give it one more try by by Friday.

I used PBR this morning

If I had used this

Just because you’re in the Mariana Trench doesn’t meant you can’t move up and down within that trench.

Maybe I’m wrong.

$ARIS I am still invested in. The stock is a pretty good deal under 12$. It has a 17$ analyst target and is offering cash dividends already.

6 months ago I bought 12 cans of seltzer from kroger for about $2

Last week I bought the same exact box of seltzer from kroger for $4

Pretty much the same story for everything else in the store

Got a question for geo, or anyone really, about daily trading volume and a safe metric to go by when trying to ensure enough liquidity to sell a relatively high number of shares.

Let’s say, for example, I see TSLA dip a few points, and want to capitalize on the expected rebound. TSLA has a daily trading volume of around 26M shares.

With a share price currently at 826.50, 26M shares traded a day means about 2,148,900,000 (call it $2B) in cash moving in and out of TSLA stock each day. I’ve seen a general rule of thumb that you never want to exceed 1% of the daily trading volume, but I think it’s safe to say I won’t be executing day trades worth $20M, but what about $1M or even $250k? Assuming I’m sticking to blue chips with relatively high volume, should I be concerned about exiting a position of shares in the thousands or tens of thousands?

Like you said it's because of liquidity. I think it's more important for things like let's say you own like a whole company in penny stocks or if your like some huge entity trying to do some illegal ass shit and like corner the market or whatever. Thousands or even tens or hundreds thousands is a comparative drop in the bucket with something like tesla

Just a question about the question - I’ve been trying to learn -

But why would you be concerned about that? It’s not illegal to trade in large volumes is it? Or are you worried that you may get stuck without a buyer? Or am I missing what you’re saying completely?

Yeah I just don’t wanna be in a position where I can’t take profits (or stop losses) because of liquidity issues. I’m probably just being overly cautious.
