Nah, I emptied it down to just 500. I don't need to be gambling with any more than that right now. I'm down to just a few trades a month.

Got stopped out of FB for a wash. Too bad, as it was up 25% at one point. One of the issues with trading options, momentum can drive the price to extremes very quickly.

I only put in a benji but it’s down 5%
I’m kind of shocked more people aren’t trying to buy the dip - I guess maybe it’s never coming back - god knows it deserves to be taken behind the barn
I guess it’s going in the dying tech stock corner of my portfolio

They may adapt into new markets, but when you consider that Facebook isn't the "cool thing" anymore, you have a bit of a death spiral dynamic. Less eyeballs on the platform means less ad revenue, and the push toward privacy enhancement (e.g. iPhones now requires app's to get users to opt-in for targeted ads) means advertising to specific demographics is less available, and thus ads are less effective in aggregate. This translates directly to less revenue, which could perhaps be balanced by higher ad fees, however with less active demographic targeting, advertisers will surely not pay up for a worse product. Thus, it's a negative from both perspectives and a difficult hole for Facebook to crawl out of. Remember, a stock's price trajectory has very little to do with how much money they are making in absolute terms; investors pay for growth, so regardless of what the actual take is, it's only going to increase the stock price if the earnings are increasing year over year.
Now Facebook has a lot of talent and money available, so if their attempted pivot into the "metaverse" and crypto plays out, maybe they still have growth ahead of them. But for now, their lead money maker is deteriorating. Also recognize that well capitalized institutional investors have major exposure to stocks like these, so when the story changes, they have a whole lot of shares to unload... I think something like $9 billion of stock traded in the first 10 minutes today! While FB will undoubtedly find a bottom at some point and attempt a retracement, it'll be tough sledding until they can realize new revenue streams.

These markets are rough. Took some solid L's so far...
Been playing the ATM cycle on $ARIS.. got orders filled at $4.55 on $OPFI today.. Also got some $JOAN around $10..really tryna focus on companies not diluting, paying dividends, and actually offering products.
This is not a market to be over trading!
another note: Analyst have been wrong across the board for almost all these earning reports. People that get paid to do this are not even "right" right now lol
AMAZON 4Q EPS $27.75, EST. $3.77 ?? like wtf

The analysts are rarely right. Think about it from the perspective of who they work for. Analysts are employees of big banks & investment firms. They are in the business of talking their book. There is a heavy bias toward buy recommendations. Sell recommendations are in the minority and any downgrades typically arrive after the company disappoints and their stock pays the price. The buy recommendations on the other hand, show up after the analyst's firm is done loading their boat so they can pump in the retail crowd to enrichen their existing position.
Frankly, I consider analyst opinions a big fat waste of time and I can't remember the last time I've read one. The one caveat is that it is worth noting whether a stock is loaded to the gills with buy rec's, because that means that the bar has been set high and the big money that wants to buy, already has. In other words, a ton of buy signals indicates that your general bias should be a negative surprise. A ton of sell recommendations and your bias could be for an upside surprise followed by a round of upgrades from those analysts who are always late and often wrong.

Yeah this is what I've noticed over the course of trading. Downgrades/Upgrades dropping right when they need it to boost or devalue the stock. It's a dirty game because the average investor will use that as a buy signal.
I was going through some Wolf Research presentations and they use retail as a contra-indicator for buying/selling. Whenever retail is bullish they are bearish. It's quite hilarious honestly.

There is in fact a Smart & Dumb money indicator published by SentimentTrader.com that is awesome (only at extremes) to gauge potential inflection points in the market. Most of the time, the indicator doesn't mean much... but when there's huge spread between the smart money and the dumb money, that's when you do really well to bet on the smart money position, whether it's bullish or bearish. I don't subscribe to the SentimentTrader myself, but I do subscribe to StockMarketMentor.com and Dan Fitzpatrick will relate the info when that indicator is at an extreme, and I honestly can't remember a time it hasn't been on point.

Question to anyone:
https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.interestingengineering.com/mit-two-patents-2d-material-stronger-than-steel
It seems like this polymer, 2DPA-1, could be an investment opportunity, but the professor of this online finance class I’m taking says by the time you think of it, it’s too late.
Does anybody try to read about new innovations and try to invest? Like who mines the chemicals that make something or along those lines? Just wondering. Like trying to catch something right before it blows up. Or is that 100% bush league thinking like that professor seems to think it is?

I care less about a particular stock and more about am I jumping in at a good pivot point in the correct direction
I rather hop on a train that's started moving vs sitting in one that might move big in the future, but that's just me
It's easier to find where money is moving right at the moment and harder to find where money will be moving in the future.
Again, that's just me
I do pay attention to particular stocks I like or sectors I think might go big and look for signs in the chart of the movement I want
I personally wouldn't hop in until i thought things were begining to take off
I don't have the patience to let capital sit while other things are moving

I bought a decent chunk of btc at 37 and plan on holding until it’s back at 60
I’m hoping that it will bounce between 60 and 39 again and again
another thought in my mind is that if it reaches 90 I’ll buy it again if it drops back to 69
I’m one of the least knowledgeable about crypto but I think that Bitcoin is going to be THE permanent alternative world currency and as long as more and more of the world finds its way online Bitcoin will stay on a bouncy upward trajectory and when it’s saturated it’ll bounce between two numbers indefinitely I don’t think it’ll grow forever like gold and the market in general though
I also think there’s lots of money to be made in other cryptocurrencies but they’re all bubbles except for Bitcoin
but then again ain’t nobody know the future - all I know for sure is that if it hits 60 again I’ll sell and it will have been a successful investment - if not I’ll hang on to it and maybe I can buy some peanut butter with it if the dollar collapses
like I said I don’t know shit - all I know is you try to buy low and sell high whatever the fuck it is

Sold 2/3 of MARA March $20 calls this morning (with MARA @ $30) for +100%
I would expect a bit of give back now, however I don’t know whether that will happen, so I’ll raise a trailing stop on the remaining calls at today’s lows, and if we do move higher, will raise that stop and ultimately also sell calls against the common shares I’m also holding.

Anybody know anything about Public.com? I know they only do taxable accounts and don't offer many services that a full-service broker would, but it sounds pretty good.
