Well, lightning didn’t strike twice with TSLA.
Think I’ll sell half and put it back into stocks I like a little more which also took a dump today.

Actually am going to add lightly to AAPL here. Very nice recovery off its 20 day MA, back to the top of the range, and hit an all time high this morning. Still in a squeeze, but the action today indicates that there are plenty of buyers underneath this one, which makes me believe it will ultimately be clawing its way toward a breakout.
Letting PENN and ABNB ride with original stops in place.

Goddamn it the markets have been less than mediocre. Tesla is still sinking I can't can't believe it cuz the first thing I almost did when I saw Geo's post about it was sell a naked $700 call for September 3rd. Then u guys convinced me it might be going the other way and I was just like not gonna fall for this crap again as soon as I do anything musk is gonna make some bonehead tweet or something like every goddamn time.

Bought a bunch of SPY yesterday was up a little but then the whole speech and Afghanistan bullshit I think is bringing it down.
Whatever I am tired of sitting on a bunch of cash and letting inflation just eat it so I gotta get in the game instead of watching from the sidelines.
I am just buying stocks with a cash account I haven't been doing any of the calls or puts stuff because I don't quite understand it yet

Lost all my 2021 gains, and am a little in the red. Problem is I am too busy to even think about a plan. Maybe would be best to park it in a fund and say fuckit, hmmm that might be a good idea actually.

Haven't traded much the last week or two but still sitting on a position in MP, NNDM, and TLRY
Haven't even been looking for trades much. Going to sit on my positions, no intention of selling or adding to
And no real intention on adding any money to the market
If I see a stock I like break above trending resistance I'll probably open a small position
Last few days look like they've been blood baths so there may be some opportunity soon to catch some rebounds
If the market keeps looking like shit I'll continue building a stronger position in MP

I forgot I did sell INDI for a 8% gain or so sometime in the last week or two
Broke out decently and momentum tapered off so I sold for a profit, wasn't greedy at all considering the way things looked when I sold, put that money into MP

Got stopped out of some of my PENN calls today early on. Too bad, given the nice recovery its seen. As much as I'd like to add it back, I am mindful of overtrading, noting that the SPY has been trading below VWAP throughout the bulk of the day, and I will thus respect the stop that was triggered. Partial position remains intact with the final stop below the earnings low @ $61.
TSLA with a nice bounce off of its 50 day, but this was another one I was stopped out of, and am not compelled to add it back right here right now, as $700 is going to be a battleground and short-term resistance.
ABNB with another nice bounce. Stopped out of part of this, but still have a small piece that I will let ride for the time being.
AAPL pulling back into its squeeze. Really thought this one would break away but it looks to have more work to do. The 50 day is rapidly ascending, so I feel that it won't be too long before it either takes a quick dive to tag it, or churns sideways for another week before taking another stab above $150. Sitting tight on this one, will be watching closely and trading aggressively if the opportunity presents itself, as this is a pretty nice setup on a reasonably stable and highly liquid stock (highly liquid = less expensive leverage via options, particularly the weeklies if you are actively trading with a short-term time frame and seriously disciplined risk management via active stops).
All in all, a fairly shitty week for my equity portfolio; fortunately this was more than offset by positive action on the crypto side of things, where I have been ringing the register to book some of the outsized gains.
While the SPY is holding its 20 day, a move to the bottom of the bollinger bands around $433-$435 seems like an inflection area that could get tagged for a reflexive bounce. QQQ's are also trading rather tightly but could reasonably probe $360 to confirm the 50 day as support. So if you have sidelined cash waiting to be deployed, set your alerts and be ready. For now, it appears we are in no man's land and I wouldn't be doing much but sitting on your hands. Another 2% drawdown in the QQQ and SPY with a bounce would appear to be a pretty good spot to buy.

I just opened a TD Ameritrade account, but haven't put any money in it yet. Still figuring out what all the switches and levers do.
Thinking about starting out buying some Regeneron stock. It's kinda looking to me like that's the next big grift the republicans are fueling. Get a bunch of people sick then sell them expensive medicine because vaccines are just too darn cost effective.

What kind of account did you create? A Roth? What are your long terms plans with this, or are you looking at like daytrading?
In other news, just set my 401k to pull out $750/paycheck, essentially maxing out my annual contribution of $19500. Playing a bit of catch-up here on the retirement side, even though the Roth has been kind these past two years - I need some serious chunk savings.
My options are essentially funds with a 401k, am I best suited to do some kind of mix, like small/med/large cap? I would think to allocate 100% of my savings to one fund is not diversification

This is fairly close to the level I would be expecting a bounce on the S&P. I am adding aggressively to weekly (Aug 27th) $145 AAPL calls, with a stop one penny below the low of day ($144.49). It's difficult to buy into weakness like this, but the stock does appear to be putting in a short-term floor. If that floor breaks, the 50 day at ~$141.80 is going to be the next probable support on AAPL.
The good thing about a trade like this, is the higher probability that we are going to see support by having rapidly fallen to the bottom of the range with the major averages signaling a similar dynamic, which allows you to place a reasonable stop very close to your entry (hence, low risk, which allows you to size up your position, and in turn reap a huge reward if this indeed proves to be support). The bad thing about a trade like this is that it's really hard to take, and the prevailing short-term trend shows a lot of supply overhead. In a nuthsell, it's not a guarantee to print money, but fortune can favor the bold. And if it turns ugly, you have managed your risk by accepting a tolerable loss based on the relationship between your entry, your stop and your position size.

+35% on this trade so far, doesn't look done yet, but we'll see. Going to ratchet up and stagger my stops in order to ensure this will close profitably regardless of direction, while still giving it a cushion for further upside.

I'm pretty cautious about the stock market right now, crypto too. I don't have an understanding to do any kind of techinical analysis. I've done really well with 3-7 month holdings of CGC and Cardano, and even a year of Fidelity Select Technology, which was my first non-diversified mutual fund. And although I think I made intelligent decisions about getting in and getting out (with some help from Geo on the latter), there was also a fair amount of beginner's luck and I'm not going to let that go to my head. I keep telling my best friend, investing is exciting; it's like sex and drugs and rock and roll. But currently, I think there's just as much chance of losing money as making it. IDK, I've seen quite a few up and down cycles with mutual funds, and the bear market always seems to last quite a while after the negative forcast have been circulating, but it will come, at least in equities. Once it does, only the most skillful will make money. The problem I see is that there is no clear way of playing it safe, and if there's inflation, cash isn't too good either. The Vanguard Group is saying expect about 6% indexing in the next decade more or less.
Personally, I'm going to fund my 401K as I have been with S&P 500 and small cap and add a value fund. I'm going to throw additional money into extra principal payments on the new car I'm about to buy, and observe for a while.
