My computer play is UMC

They are a Taiwanese company trading at about $10/share right now

I think it can hit around $15 before the end of summer

i bought some FB and ETSY during this sell off

never sure if things are gonna get worse but selling feels overdone?

the air has been taken out of some really frothy stuff and imo may be the beginning of the end for some of it

my buys follow the theme of me trying to pick out the good thrown out with the bad

i try to buy and hold stuff with long term view in mind

I have not been in or watching equities for the past week, and am heading up to Lake Tahoe early tomorrow morning to see family from Oregon (now that we're all vaccinated) whom I haven't seen since pre-pandemic times

Back in the hot seat next week and will probably begin paying more attention then.

I'm sitting on a few that have dropped below the point of wanting to sell them at those kind of losses and am playing the waiting game
It's been up one day and down the next two for a while

I read an article saying that developments in the U.S., political, and the growing acceptance of weed business in banking and stock exchanges will make American corporate weed companies more attractive investments than their Canadian counterpart. Not sure how far along we are on that timeline, but the argument makes sense. Our consumer market is much larger than theirs.

Just profit taking as far as i can tell

inflation, fear of rising interest rates, equities sitting at extreme levels, market pumped with stimulus, bills, punishment for reddit and short squeezes

Money thrown on the table taken off

MM and the suits will dictate what happens imo.

Companies will rebound, market will recover

Best to invest carefully on stocks looking for bottoms and trade cautiously on stocks climbing up

Not a bad choice I still like Microsoft as a retirement blue-chip. You never no the feds could still step in and reign in Jeff bozo or even break up the company or whatever. That would be an extreme scenario to see played out but it's not like out the realm of possible is all I'm saying. That's not to say it's not always a risk for any these major players. Too big to fail can very quickly flip to too big to be allowed. But there's def some talk about amazon still.

Copper is looking good. However The ETFs that trade exclusively in copper futures seem maybe inefficient. They state up front that you wont necessarily make money if copper goes up. I might look for a diversified metals fund that is heavy in copper.

I also like Flora, the only weed company that grows outdoors which cuts production costs very significantly. They're vertically integrated, marketing a variety of cannabis derivatives. I don't know about the entry point, but the business model is attractive.

Im not sure about the future of Microsoft, they seem to be shying away from the desktop market and focusing on online services like office/azure/github, unsure how thats going to play out, the contribute boatloads of money towards the Linux foundation for unknown reasons (embrace, extend, extinguish?)

I think Googles Fuchsia is going to be the next big thing running in Android and Chromebooks, I think most normies will have one of those in the future and Windows will just be some thing companies run, Personal computers will mostly be Google devices

EDIT:

Windows hearts Linux

For most of the normies out there, an operating system is just a bootloader for Google Chrome.

Windows is geared towards businesses largely now and have been operating under the vision that the PC is dead for decades now. Linux idiots don't get that so just shit on thier products whenever they try to do anything novel. But have fun with ur obsolete desktop or whatever.

I own some MSFT as well as a long term hold, feel pretty comfortable with that as well.

Read an article about RIOT accumulating a large crypto mining center for 660m; considering where they are currently trading I am somewhat compelled to pick some up, but if crypto has another sideways run there could be better opportunities in the near future.

I think Googles kernel Fuchsia is going to be the next big thing, whether they use it as the kernel in chromebooks or come out with a new thing for it, I dont know, but they recently brought the status of Fuchsia to production ready

and it can run Linux apps natively even though its not based on Linux, so it has the potential to steal people from the Linux user base because Linux people can still use their  programs on Fuchsia, and then Google can slowly phase out the old and in with the new, kinda like OSX could run old Apple programs, but Apple slowly phased out development of them in favour of OSX apps

EDIT: I JUST REALIZED WHY ANDROID 11 AND 12 SUCK, GOOGLES KILLING ANDROID IN FAVOUR OF FUCHSIA

Well, I just put all my retirement savings back on the market with a full spectrum of large/medium/small caps stocks, bonds, and other financial knickknacks, so you know what that means.

Grab your ass. It's all about to come tumbling down.
