TROX still taking names. PENN still looking good. AMZN below the 50? No thanks, I'll take the loss on that one and move on. As an aside, I'll be heading out to camp off the grid for a few nights tomorrow morning, so won't be making any big moves today and won't be around til Friday otherwise.

Bought some Bitfarms (BITF.V) stock on Friday during the continued bitcoin run. It's a bitcoin mining operation here in Canada. It had a pretty major dip this morning (in correlation with the btc dumpage) and then rose to a new high after btc started to climb. I sold for a +17% profit.
Trying to learn some better discipline and stick to trading with a plan. Probably could have gotten more out of this one but I'll take a 17% gain in such a short period time.
I was also eyeing HUT on Friday (HUT.TO) which popped like 35% this morning but missed out on that one.
Thank you geo for all your posts. They certainly are of great help to n00b traders like myself.

Also worth mentioning...
I am waiting for my wealth simple account to get funded so I can enjoy commission free trading on these Canadian stock exchanges. For anyone in Canada who is still using a bank or other brokers to invest in stocks on the Canadian exchanges, you might wanna consider Wealth Simple. Was insanely easy to set up an account (within 5 minutes I had a TFSA ready to go). Takes 3 days for funds to reach the account but still, super easy.
I hear that it's not as good for trading US stocks due to currency conversion fees and such but I figure it's worth having it for free trading on TSX and our other Canadian exchanges.

I was just wondering what you are going to do with all the money!
Be kind and well - as you have- and - and don't get too gone.
Remember the aliens can still see you
But on subject- MY ASTI stocks that I bought in at .02 and then went up to .07 and sold at .05 and now are down - I rebought some a few days ago at like .035- just for fun- like $200 bucks or so.
I'm still just in shock about NTCY being 70+ when I got in at like $8 and sold at $22
But what I have realized is that I just honestly don't give 2 cents of a fox that I "could have been rich"
I am wealthy and the world is mine - even when I am poor and beaten down- I never forget my blessings and all those I have blessed.
BUT! - In the meantime- my measly $1000 is tryna work in the stonk market.
Here are the current stocks I'm holding and don't really care if they go to zero.
ASTI BLSP ET GORO LKYSF OGI SFT
SO ----I know it's off subject geokills- but what are you going to do while you're gone?

You should try and learn some TA for charts man.
That way you can capitalize on gains and minimize loss.
Why leave it to randomness? That doesnt make much sense to me.
Is your goal not to build your wealth and work toward bettering your financial position.. ?

Market is not closing well. As I'm going to be camping off the grid tomorrow through friday, I have taking significant equity exposure off the table. The only thing I really like right here is TROX.
Fiery -- I'll be in Joshua Tree National Park, which is full of all sorts of sweet rocks to climb, campfires, hiking, some 4x4 trails to bang the Jeep around on. Will be with the wife and 3 year old, so nothing too crazy. Box wine in tow

That's awesome!
Enjoy yourself. - My buddy just went through the 3 year old kid phase and it only gets better- and harder- as time goes on- but soon life reveals itself in mysterious ways and it's easy.
At least you are not having to be a stay at home dad AND teaching - I know we all love our families but public/private school is there for a reason-
Anyways- to you and all people=- don't get too caught up in money and realize that each breath you take is the most precious - because it could always be the last because literally lightening can strike twice.
I haven't even checked my stocks today because I don't even care about that today.- but I want to get some TA- I'll prolly get some tomorrow because I like the idea.
And yes I'd like to have a bunch of money but I realized earlier that I am literally rich- even though usually I classify in the poverty level on my taxes, this world is set before me!
All things will come in due time when they are ready.

On the other hand, it's extremely important to recognize that your kids don't give a flying fuck what kind of money you're pulling in. They want your attention and love. Make sure you have that in balance. Chasing a few extra bucks isn't going to do shit for the long term relationship you will cultivate will your children. It's one of the main reasons I decided to take such a long break in trading during the bulk of 2020. Given the way the market rebounded, I likely left a lot of money on the table doing that... but the stress wasn't working for me and I didn't feel balanced. I needed to focus on my family. You might want to do the same.

Hard when i dont live with them and only see mt daughter on the weekends.
I appreciate the advice, but when i have mt daughter shes the center of mt attention and everything i do is with her best interest in mind.
I need a place for her to live.
I want a home for my kids to grow up in.
I want them to have opportunities in extracurricular activities etc etc
Idc about money
My goals just happen to require it

I wouldnt have even stumbled into this if it werenr for me not having or being where i use to live.
Because i was 100% devoted to my household to the point i had nothing in terms of time or energy for myself.

For whatever it's worth, I believe that in order for your household to be, as a whole, successful... each individual must be able to carve out some measure of time and energy for themselves (and ideally, to be supported by their cohabitants in this regard). Balance. Necessary in all aspects of life. Without providing room for your own personal space/needs, you run the risk of pent up resentment coming to a head at some point, and often with destructive consequences; either to yourself, to those around you, or all of the above.

Yep, thats what played out.
Hopefully we end up working things out
Im trying to capitalize on my available time now where i can successfully play this game of stocks here.
Getting real close to having it figured out.
Then i wont need to spend as much time with it.
Thanks for the words of wisdom.
And everything else

This all resonates a lot. I’ve been feeling guilty lately for having focused on trading/crypto so much during the day when I’m with my daughter. I made a decision to stop chasing gains here and there and just let shit sit, am still in the process of refocusing nearly all of my Roth capital to long term positions. Same with crypto, just set alerts and check these threads when I’ve got some personal time. My daughter needs me present more than I need to fuck around trading. When she’s off to kindergarten maybe the opportunity to study and execute short term trades, but yah now is my time with her and I won’t ever get it back if I miss it.
I know we’ve all got different battles and life and are in different positions but am glad to read that people here have their focus on family. Have fun this week Geo!
Also, long term positioning in:
AMZN AB SBUX NVDA (banned only for day trading ) - not positioned yet COST VZ WMT BA - not positioned yet AAPL - not positioned yet
Plan to place smaller long term positions in: CGC TSLA if drops to $500

TNX CBOE ten year treasury yield index just had a strong break out on the daily above its 200 ema
Im expecting it to retrace down and test resistance for a bounce. Assuming it does bounce and holds strong above its 200 ema, what impact will this have on the market? As that would seem to signal a trend reversal.
It seems at the moment tech companies are being brought down. For what ever reason. Interesting it coincides with crypto dropping.
