Wild world.
I hardly understand much from an economic standpoint but anyone who knows zilch is really fighting an uphill battle in this world...
Im glad i stumbled upon some of these things when i did and had the means and desire to start getting involved...
Seems like the world is just passing people by and if youre less fortunate youre shit out of luck
It'll leave you in the mud and not give two fucks..
Or maybe im just seeing things from a pessimistic viewpoint right now
It’s good to be informed. There’s a lot I wish I knew in my early teens and 20s, and could’ve if I had been a bit smarter with my time. Have also seen more examples of life not being fair than most people, due to the nature of my work. It just is what it is, and a part of you has to desensitize to the unfairness of it all, at the same time without losing empathy.
At least you are in a position to not only capitalize on your exact spot in this world, but also make a change to help those leas fortunate, if you are so compelled to do so. That can be anything from donating your money to less fortunate, or even more valuable IMO, donating your knowledge - make people aware that they should be saving, what worked for you, etc...
At the end of the day we have control over our impact on the world, and hopefully can use the tools and resources given to us to try and shape the world the way we would like it to be. In the world of trading/crypto, that translates to just sharing my knowledge in a safe way with people who are interested in getting started.

Yeah idk she's white hot cannabis might even pull put and stick it back in. Hope fully the cannabis community is bringing everyone back together finally in a big way to say let's boldly go forward. The money is unbelievable all lights are green. But its also important to not get greedy and fuck this up to a bail out like everything.

geokills said: AAPL looks like it wants to wake up today. Been gliding into its 50 day moving average, didn't quite tag it, but showing some life as it pokes its head above its 8 day EMA. I am initiating a new position in it, although mindful of the earnings release on Jan 27th. Will plan for a run up into earnings, and take at least half off before the report.
Peeled off most of my AAPL this morning. Since my plan was for a run into earnings, and I was buying on a bounce off of a perceived base, I had loaded up via weekly options, half expiring as early as tomorrow and half in three weeks, to balance the risk of using leverage on a very large short-term position. That paid off this morning, and while the stock is still strong as death, I know better than to turn my back on a 60%+ overnight gain (especially with an options contract that expires in a day). By the looks of it, AAPL will continue to run, and so I have rolled up about 25% of the original position into February $135 calls and will add to the position only on weakness. Eying a test of $132 to fill the morning's opening gap - although by how strong the tech leadership group is trading, that may not happen, and is why I rolled up a part of the position straight away. This position boosted my aggregate portfolio return to +8% on the day, so I'm a happy camper!
PLCE still putting in a good showing and marching higher, huge short interest here, low volume, let 'em squeeze! Those March $40 calls I've been holding for weeks are nearing a double up 90% so far.
TLRY showing a little bounce at its 8 day EMA. This is the move I was waiting for, and while my bid was a bit too low to get hit at the open, I bought on the move through VWAP to nearly double my position size here. Still have room left to add if we ride down to bounce at $15.
Sold some $10 February puts on MARA for $0.52 each. This is a bitcoin mining play, that traded as high as $28+ only a couple of weeks ago. As it trades in tandem with the momentum of bitcoin, and bitcoin is selling off this morning, MARA is taking it on the chin. I would be happy to own some at $9.48/share however, hence why I sold those puts. I will continue to sell more on a further move down, and ultimately begin adding calls if it gets low enough, as although crypto is weak today, I expect to see renewed strength before too long.

Getting back into SOLO today.
Also, although it feels like trying to catch a falling knife, I am adding (lightly) to my Jan 2022 HAL $20 calls here just above $19.

Adding one NVDA Feb $550 call here into the close. Wish I had seen this in the morning. I think it has legs to breakout of its sideways squeeze of the past many moons, but it has moved 10% in three days, so I don't want to go gangbusters. If it behaves well at the open tomorrow, I will build up the position then for a daily swing, likely taking off the bulk before the weekend hits.

Just had a chance to check todays movement, missed a TLRY buy I had at $17.08 before it hiked up for the day. But maybe like Geo stated there is a chance for a bounce to $15, and for which I am just (currently) staying patient.
AAPL (as Geo stated) and AMZN were nice movers again today - I am planning to ratchet up the stop on AAPL, and a little looser on AMZN. Nice to log in after a busy day not knowing what to expect to see gains like this though

I bought some of the shroom penny stocks.
MMEDF - Mind Medicine NUMI.V - Numinus Wellness Inc
They don't have a path to profitability. At least Compass has a couple of manufacturing patents, but they really don't have much for I.P. It's pretty much against what I usually do for investments, but it's a small position to try.
But fuck it. You can buy anything in this market and there are some good theories about how many of the anti-depressants are coming off patent soon, so big pharma will need to find something new to sell to depressed people. Giving people shrooms is probably a good thing too.

Yeah that might be a sweet option to get involved in that area.
I will definitely hop on some trippy etf's
Glad you shared this because its something i was interested in that completely slipped my mind
Idk if these stocks will hold
But recently my biggest earners were OPTT NNDM APHA MP
I put decent stake into APHA and more into MP because i actually thought they were decent buys
The first two i really just added small stakes on the off chance they gained some success
I would imagine right now they are due to correct, but they hit some big swings idk if anyone is interested in keeping their eyes out on them
If they pull back i might add more to them
APHA and MP i will most definitely be adding to
I wanted in on IPWR and missed my buy when it jumped up from 8 to 9 and i didnt hit my order. Been waiting for it to drop and hoping it does so i can jump in
I jumped into BABA recently as well after keeping my eye on it. I think they may have found their bottom and start working back up
Holding some AMD and MU as well as i think semiconductors might take off and i took a chance on ACEV for that reason as well
Also holding LI, XPEV
AVTR too which i might get rid of
So far the last 3 weeks im up a little over 10% excluding my MP gain which was pretty nice, but on a different platform so that wasnt calculated into my performance
Been thinking about getting into SQ and SHOP
Havent had much time to look around for other good buys lately
Just been watching my positions
Actually i just looked and its over 11% and thats in the last 2 weeks.
Probably have to get use to seeing that swing hard the other direction, but being so new its nice to just see my portfolio at least doing better than the major market markers
I imagine the same time im in red those markers might hold their green.
Time will tell.
So far its been fun

RIG - Got my fill on May $3 calls @ $0.45 on the gap down this morning. Already up 30%.
RUN - Languishing. If this falls below $83, I'm out. The thesis here was a high volume bounce off the 20 day after a retracement, but it's presently back below its 8 day EMA and the bollinger bands are very wide... so it needs to prove itself quickly, otherwise I won't be waiting around. By the looks of it, this has some more work to do.
SOLO - Staying in consolidation. Somewhat similar setup to RUN, although it bounced above its 8 day EMA instead of underneath it. However, a move below this morning's lows and I will also be shutting this down. Fridays and all, I like to lighten up on whatever's not actively working.
NVDA - Bought this as a breakout candidate, kept the position small and glad I did. It's looking pretty healthy here, stabilizing on a minimal pullback toward the top of yesterday's range, but I am in no mood to get aggressive on a Friday with a weak open. I will hold this over the weekend IF it holds firm and closes strong today.
TLRY/CGC - Just marking time. Comfortable holding these.
AAPL - Digesting its big move from the past two days. Earnings next wednesday, as long as the market isn't weak, I think it should keep grinding higher on Monday and Tuesday.
HAL - At its 50 day, first visit since its November 9th breakout. Long term position and an appropriate buy point.
MARA - The $10 puts I shorted are already down 50%. When you short calls you have to keep capital free in your account in order to cover the potential purchase of however many shares you would have to purchase @ $10 if the stock traded below that level on expiration. I don't really want to keep that capital locked for another 4 weeks just to bag the second 50% of this trade, so I'm buying these back at half off to close the trade. If this setup presents itself again, I will probably do a bull put spread instead to limit the maintenance requirement.

When youre looking at bollinger what chart are you looking at?
Daily? 4 hour? Hour?
Do you generally use the daily chart for deciding your trades ?
Daily chart for looking at the week or so and weekly for looking at months etc or ..?

Bollinger bands can be relevant in any time frame, but most commonly I am referring to the daily time frame when referencing wide or narrow bands, squeezes and breakouts. Loosely defined:
- Daily & weekly time frames are typically the "decision" time frames (i.e. yes I want to own this / or no thanks).
- A combination of daily/hourly/15min/5min are the "action" time frames (i.e. what I use when placing orders and stops).
The specific time frames you end up using will be contingent upon your trading plan. Take HAL for example, I'm not really zooming in beyond the daily at all, because I am building a longer term position over the course of days and weeks, which (if the trade works), will be held for a year or more. But with something like SOLO, AAPL and NVDA, the intraday time frames become relevant because these are swing trades using shorter dated options, and the entries and exits are necessarily very sensitive to price, in order to effectively manage the risk involved with a shorter-term leveraged position.
