Thanks for the well thought out post. I enjoy reading this thread and have been looking for opportunities, now and coming out the other side, to make up some of the losses I took in the last couple of months.

Thanks Geo. I'm not a sophisticated investor, but I have been investing and paying attention to the markets for 20+ years. I completely agree-- things seem a little to good to be true right now. I am sitting on cash right now and waiting for the other shoe to drop once the true magnitude of unemployment and economic slow down is more fully felt.

I picked up several cannabis sector stocks way back before the big boom. I did contemplate offloading all of them at many times their original purchase price at the peak and to some extent regretted not doing so over the last 18 months. However, I purchased them based on the original investment thesis that Canada did not represent the 'actual' market and that only when the US market opens up would I appreciate the real growth potential. This seems more and more like a reality as time passes and now I am pleased that I decided to stick to my guns. I am up significantly on all of my original purchases (in this sector) except for ACB. It is difficult to get back on the winning side with ACB when they entirely shit the bed, burn money to heat the house and do a 12:1 reverse split. I have little confidence that they will right the ship but again, I am in it for the long haul.

A related buy that I am looking at is RVVTF-- is is a small cap company that has its hand it conventional therapeutics as well as the psychedelics space--specifically psilocybin. I like their diversification aka more shots on goal. I might sink a bit of gambling money into them with the hope that one of their products receives approval. They are currently in a phase III study for Covid induced acute lung injury. While everything fails in the lung injury space, if they were to receive approval they would surely see a huge bump in value.

Picked this up last week and it's increased ~50%. Year-to-date it is up ~600%. I'm trying to figure out whether to sink more money in. Any opinions?

I like this space and have made multiple investments including Mind Med and Cybin; both of which have been doing well. I'm surprised there doesn't seem to be greater interest on the Shroomery for this space given the common thread that brings us all here...

I've been checking this site out daily. It gives a nice overview of how the psychedelics market is evolving. They are tracking 34 stocks in the space currently and it continues to grow as more companies go public.

Compound growth dramatically favors those that start early. Good luck!

Google is on a bit of a run today. I bought in back when it was ~$1000 and it has treated pretty well. All of my cannabis and psychedelics stocks are also doing quite well, although the psych stocks have kind of sucked lately. I'm in the psych stocks for the long term though so I am trying to ignore the recent dip.

I've been looking for some green tech investments to make and just can't decide where to sprinkle. I missed the Tesla train already and I'm not super keen to enter at the current price. I'm thinking the green tech sector should make out well under Biden. Any suggestions?

I got clobbered yesterday. I am a long time investor, not a trader. I try to identify emerging sectors that make sense and that I think I understand and then invest in the long game. When the cannabis sector opened up in Canada I was quick to invest and I have held multiple companies through all of the turbulence since. Yesterday was not my best day...

Honestly APHA doesn't look much different from TLRY, which makes some sense since they are destined to be intertwined.  Both of these stocks had a huge blow off a week ago.  APHA didn't blow off quite as hard, and thus has been able to maintain slightly better price action... but make no mistake, there is a lot of pain in both of these stocks and you cannot expect that these will just blast off to their highs anytime soon.  These stocks got ahead of themselves, plain and simple.  As anyone who has been following this thread knows, I want to maintain some longer term exposure to the cannabis sector, but there are better opportunities if you're looking for near term strength.  PENN for example.  TROX was another one I highlighted Friday, although after being up over 8% on the day, I wouldn't advocate chasing that one.

Have a look at Terrascend. A Canadian cannabis company with global operations. While the other cannabis sector companies experience wild swings, Terrascend lumbers onwards and upwards. I bought well below $2 CAD and it's trading ~$20 CAD. Analysts seem to love it as well.

TSE is the Toronto Stock Exchange, not Tokyo.

The difference in price between the OTC and TSE listing is primarily due to the difference in currency value for USD and CAD respectively.

Both of the tickers you listed are for the same company, listed on different exchanges.

As far as which one to buy (OTC vs TSE) there are several things I consider when making the choice.

What's the average trade volume per day? I tend to select the exchange that has the bigger trade volume for a particular stock as it is generally easier to get in/out smoothly.

What's your primary currency? If you're American and you are buying stocks listed on the TSE you are buying in CAD funds. You need to consider not only what the stock price is going to do, but also factor in swings in currency value. This can work in your favor or against, but definitely adds another important factor to consider.

Go all in and get an entire Enbridge share. They're only $55.55 and pay a healthy dividend.

Finally a good day on the markets. Maybe a little bit of a santa clause rally coming our way? People want to feel good rolling into the holidays with their bellies still filled with turkey.

Agreed and I surely didn't take it as such. But who couldn't use a little financial Novocain to feel better just before cruising into Christmas. We must all consume after all and if we are all paranoid to do so that can't possibly help those struggling mega corps.

Any feelings on First Republic Bank? It is getting killed and bailed out at the same time. I wonder if it is a risky, albeit infrequent opportunity to profit from a big bailout?
