opiates and hard drugs ruined the 60s scene... they're garbage... its too bad this site doesnt just shut down people discussing heroin and opium. they are trouble and thats it...nobody ever has a happy opiate addiction story. i even went through a thing with pills... which isnt quite H, but it was still shitty coming off

I disagree absolutely.
Ignoring problems is how we got to this point in the first place, the drug war, DARE, all that bullshit.
People are going to do heroin and other stuff like that regardless. Not talking about it only makes it seem more dangerous and alluring.

not all drugs are good... i dont know anyone who uses opiates regularly who hasnt spiraled into addiction. anyone who sticks up for heroin is either on it and in denial or hasnt tried it.
basically opiates, coke and speed ruined the scene that brought us psychedelics. blew apart people's lives and killed a ton of like minded people. its sucks this site hasnt learned yet...shit this isnt the junkiery...but there are a lot more people who have gone down the junky path now than when i first regged. it would suck if anything from this site ever helped someone go further down the spiral or taught them knew ways to get dope

You didn't know the guy, he was not living in a dream world based on Kerouac's visions he was grounded and had a level head. He just got tied up with a nasty drug which killed him.
Dreamer had a great spirit and didn't deserve to go this young!

But think of how the site can help people as well. There are many knowledgeable people on this site and people who have been through similar shit.
I have done heroin, it's fun but you know what? Use some moderation fureal. Maybe I just have a strong will and somewhat enjoy putting myself through misery, but I have never had a serious problem with any opiates. I get into a binge once in a while but other than that just study my ass off and blaze.

you cant control other peoples lives kott if not all drugs are good, then you might as well just take the next step and say not all people are good.
good andbad are just words. they have no real bearing on life, and espesialy on death

I wasn't talking about Dreamer specifically, Ripple. I was talking about idealizing homelessness.

Furthermore, everyone's actions are their own responsibility, and I believe that absolutely.
No matter how much assistance someone gets in doing something stupid, how many tips, how much material aid, THEY made the decision.
It's no one's fault for not saving them from that fate, and it's no one's fault for encouraging them to pursue it.
