There coffee isn't that great IMO. I get better beans at the store and do my on grinding.
I get a lot of beans for what a cup of there coffee cost.

I've worked at various coffee shops throughout the years and I think the only argument someone can have against starbucks is that they run out small business.
Honestly, their coffee is not that bad. I think most people who bitch about them just want to be pretentious and hold their nose up high. They are the same people that watch Michael Moore and smoke American Spirits.

soooo right. I've drank coffee in Peru, Italy, France and several other places known for their coffee. Theres nothing bad about Starbucks.

I admit that when it comes to what I put in my body, be it food, air, coffee, weed, wine, whatever I DO have my nose up high. No I'm not the guy that if you invite me out for a cup of coffee and we go to Starbucks I'm gonna complain or ask to drive and extra 20 minutes so we can go to a fair trade place, but their beans are over roasted (as I said, I think it's due to the fact that the acidity balances the crazy sugar levels in the foo foo drinks that every high school girl loves) and I truly love great coffee. As I do wine and beer.
But not all of us who are choosey are butt wipes about it.

that's EXACTLY like me
I got no beef with Starbucks for muscling out the little man (fuckit - that's the laws of nature ona corporate scale) I just hate the fact that they sell an inferior product...in every sense of the term
I'd rather make my own damn cappuccino then settle for that crap

I hate pretty much every coffee chain. Well, mainly I just don't want to be seen in a coffee house. Definitely not my scene. That and I don't drink coffee, or tea.

The fucked up thing is that Starbucks was first a mom and pop coffee shop from Seattle. They sold out.

Yeah man, a great organic (I'm not going to get into a debate about this, but coffee is #1 on my list of food products that I can tell the difference in, and) Ethiopian or Mexican from the french press here at the house with maybe a pinch of sugar and it's go time.
We do have a great little drive up hut here in my crappy town that serves great beans, at great prices, but since we got 2 new starbucks, they're hardly ever open. It is sad, but so is almost everything involving America these days.
I need to quit talking about this. I'm working my way into one of my "no coffee streaks" and I'm gonna break if I'm not careful.

i recently visited nyc for the holidays. whenever i go i walk around for an hour or so along a path i used to habitually follow so that i can remember all the memories from that area.
one of the memories is this starbucks that i would always go into to use the bathroom, or to sit in the corner and trip on dxm, or just to get out of the cold and kill time.
i went in and bought a drink for the first time, i felt like i was conquering the hobo in me or something. 3$ and change for a medium hot chocolate.
edit: for 3$ i felt like i bought proof that i was an average, respectable person equal to everyone else there. i think thats the real lure of starbucks.
