Quotes about Cool Mists and FAE

Sure, for about two weeks until the cool mist shits the bed. This has all been covered over and over again for years. Cool mists can't build static pressure or the motor bushings get wet and ruin. If you use hoses from the humidifier to the GH, you cause static pressure to build. If you put the cool mist inside, you get high humidity, and if you cut slits you get FAE, plus the humidifier will last for years. RR
High humidity, plus high air exchange will give the best results. RR
I agree 6 per hour is ridiculous and totally unnecessary but when RH levels can be maintained it certainly provides a very healthy environment. 3 FAE's per day is absolute minimum for any type of yield. There will be a substantial difference in yields between minimal and optimal FAE's don't think otherwise. Hyphae
A cool mist is more effective for a greenhouse type setup where you're using cased substrates that prefer a humidity around 80 to 85%. Some people put a cool mist on a timer to come on for a minute or two several times per day for air exchange, so they don't have to fan. RR
OK here?s the thing about the Pod that make?s it different then cool mist. The whole timer thing. That isn't the way it works outdoors there is constant flow of air. Magash
The main goal of hooking a cool mist humidifier to a terrarium is air exchange.
Why not hook a normal 5 dollar computer fan then? Because it will blow dry air into the terrarium and dry it out. So, we hook up a humidifier.
Now, don't expect the humidified air to have anything near 100% Rh, at least I never experienced it. But it has more than the outside air. Anno

It kinda sounds like 90% Rh or better is fine, and a constant flow of warm humid air (wind) over the top of the moist casings (earth) punctuated by 2-3 daily mistings (rain) as needed to maintain proper moisture, would seem to mimic nature as closely as possible in a closet!
Hell, that sounds like Seattle or Miami to me!

Capt Cubensis, you are obsessing over humidifiers!
Unless you are using a martha or a setup like this http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php?Cat=0&Board=30&Number=6967150&fpart=&PHPSESSID=
stop worrying.
