Removing casings

anyone have success taking their casings out of the container, like you would birth a cake? I just tried it. Seems to me this would allow for more pinning.

Taking your cased subs out? Sounds fine to me, but it might get messy, and I would try to keep the bottom covered as well as possible so that it doesn't pin underneath.

The way I see it is mushroom are mushrooms regardless of their location on the casing.I usually never had a problem with side pinning until after a flush or two when the substrate shrunk away from the sides allowing light between the tray and substrate. If Ive already got a good flush or two with a decent pinset and some of them want to grow from the side thats fine with me,matter of fact sometimes those 3-4th flush side pins grow into the biggest ones of the whole batch:thumbup:
