I tried it within the last year... They call it "Hippie Crack" when you vaporize it... it's a 10 min. high starting with a rush type ascent.

When you get to S.A. just ask around for a shaman, the locals will point you in the right direction. Even the markets in Peru sell Ayahuasca already brewed in bottles. Each shaman has his or her own particular way of making their brew. Some will taste sweet, some will taste worse than you can imagine. That's a thick grimy taste that will linger in your mouth.. On my second time I used a lemon to rid my mouth of the taste. If you ever drank a shot of bacardi 151, you know the way a taste can stay in your mouth, even when you think about it. That's how i can compare that taste, forever in my memory.
Anyone have any icaro cds, by the way? I have two different ones, if anyone wants a copy, let me know. I'm always trying to collect new ones.

So what would you guys say is a pretty solid dose of MHRB & Syrian Rue for an ayahuasca experience?
This thread's inspired me to try it out because I've only smoked it. I'm willing to deal with the throwing up, I guess.

I was thinking maybe 10 grams MHRB but I'm not sure how much of the MAOI to take.

The throwing up isn't so bad. No one likes to throw up tho... That's one thing that stuck in my mind before the experience, how much shit will I be throwing up, and for how long. For me, it depended on many factors, things I ate before the ceremony, amount of water drank before, and during the ceremony.. and overall mental capacity. After drinking the first time, and finally having the experience and doing my best not to have any expectations, Aya felt like a very deep meditation and having the flu at the same time... The second time around I decided to meditate before I drank.. After 2 hrs of meditation, I felt ready to accept what was to be shown that night. Meditating really opens up the mind.. its like doing stretches before a work out... the cup I drank from was small enough for a big mouthful of aya.. maybe a shot glass worth? 15mins later the effects began... you'll feel your brain moving right on the forehead.. that third eye region.. Staying still and laying down was the best when the mind is transitioning over to the other side. All of your senses become super sensitive... Sight, sound, taste, smell, touch.. everything.... that aya is so thick you can feel it turning in your stomach. One slight move of your body to lay on your side, could make you sweat, increasing your temperature a bit, then making you throw up... After that purge you feel so much better! Then your body cools down a bit, and you lay down again, ready for more deeper understanding.. .. Oh wait.. now theres the stomach.. time to take a shit! You'll probably end up doing that 3 or so times, or more during ceremony. The funny part is when you actually are in the bathroom or where ever it is you are, the woods maybe? And you're grabbing for the toilet paper, you can see your bodies energy field as you move throughout "space"... I saw a blue field almost like an outline drawn over my body.... its interesting to see.. no anxiety when seen... just amazement at seeing something for the first time...
The main reason I say that throwing up isn't so bad, is the experiences you have during the actual experience.. I was so thankful for having that burst of emotion hitting my body and actually feeling pure bliss ..... tranquility... whatever you want to call it, i was so thankful to have felt that, I realized I had to shit those many times, and throw up those many times (suffering) to make room for the happiness that I felt.. You can't experience anything divine without experiencing the suffering. Good luck to all of you in your aya travels.

I've never smoked it, and never will. I'll stick to keeping aya in ceremonial context.
