Yeah, probably because they don't have much going on upstairs to distract them and they need a way to get to the mall.

That was awesome

Apolly,
Just start driving on little country roads for a while until you get used to it. I first started driving when I was about 16 and was nervous the first week, but it passed very quickly.
Baby steps, if you're not used to driving, don't go hop on I-94 or something.

I use driving as a way to alleviate stress and anxiety. I have a favorite road, it's a paved back road in the hills that's windy. My car isn't fast so the only fun you can have is around the corners. Usually I play around a bit and think about other stuff. :p

I dunno, I'm scared of driving too. Dunno why. I know so many people who have been in accidents, and a few that have died. But I shouldn't let that hold me back..

Hey it's scary at first, and still never stops being scary. But I've gotten used to it by california roadtripping.
I'm also on my fourth car... accidents make it scary. :O

Driving gets way easier after you actually have an instructor, not because they teach you much but just because of the practice potential you wouldn't have anywhere else (as few friends would let you practice on their ride).

The only challenge in driving is learning to drive a stick shift. But even after a few months, that becomes second nature. I've been driving for so long now that it doesn't even remotely freak me out, even when there's cars parked on both sides of a road and there's barely room to get through. Just breathe, relax and don't overthink everything.

Just be confident and get a feel for your reaction time, you'll be able to anticipate and respond faster when sketchy driving situations arise.

Honestly I don't ever remember not being able to drive. I just remember not being old enough to do it legally. My dad used to let us drive all the time when we were out in the middle of nowhere. I remember the only hard part was trying to reach the pedals and still see over the wheel! The driving itself has always been natural to me.
Nowadays I can drive or operate anything out there. From a motorcycle to any automobile to a 100,000 pound big rig to heavy construction equipment. I do it all and I do it well. Nothing makes me nervous anymore. I'm right at home driving/operating any piece of equipment built.

Also, it always amazes my wife when I parallel park. If there is room I wil get it in, and with minimal jockeying most times. She always says the same thing..."How do you do that!?" I always give her the same response..."Don't you remember what I do for a living?"
Here is a picture of a particularly amazing parking job. 40 helped guide me in on this one, he'll confirm the authenticity of the photo. And believe it or not the car was straight as an arrow and right next to the curb when we were done (and yes, both vehicles on either side were there when I pulled in!).

same here, I almost turned my tractor over yesterday, I was unloading a 3 ton gear and didnt have sufficient weight to counter, the gear bound against the bucket and it was enough to start me over, all sorts of shit on the loader started twisting. I was almost touching grass, I was halfway into a bail when I got it back on all four
today, my driveway has begun to look like a 2 lane road

It's easy, it boils down to this.
Get from point A to point B without hitting anything or anyone.
At first it's a very conscious, but after a while, like any skill, you do it subconsciously. That's why it's important to not speed, or be aggressive. Always look ahead for hazards.
That way, when it does become second nature, safe-driving is second nature too. If you want to hot-rod it, that is a conscious decision.
I've seen too many teens drive as if they were in a competition, then lose the ability to chill out and not be a hazard simply because that's how they got used to driving.
Stay safe!!!
