Closet inocculation and monotub question.

Knocked up 3 pints and 8 half pints in my closet earlier, I thought it would be better having a smaller amount of air needing to be sterile but I was in there for about 45 mins and afterwards was thinking that maybe all my breathing could have been filling that small space with contaminants, I was using a high grade mask though so maybe I'm worried about nothing, just wondering if I fucked up or not.
Now on to my monotub question, say I have 14 half pints of the same strain, what size tubs should I use and how much colonized substrate should I use per tub? Any help would be appreciated.

The closet may be ok as long as you cleaned it properly, however a simple glovebox will provide much bette results.
Flame sterilise needle then wipe with alcohol to cool prior to inoc and do this between jars.
Personaly i have not had great success with open air inocs,
Regarding your question about stiring up air, its quite possible, even moving around in the closet could stir the air up a little. I'd imagine that you couldnt get the air still like that in a glovebox.
Check back on your jars after 3-4 days u should find out then.
Dont be discouraged if you dont see any growth it can take longer

Instead of just telling you how much sub you need I'll try and teach you how to work it out yourself.
a) decide on your spawn ratio. Let's say you are going to use 1 part spawn for every 4 parts substrate. So for 7 pints spawn, you will need 28 pints substrate, in total 35 pints or 1010.6 cubic inches
b) Next, decide on your substrate depth. Lets say 4 inches. Now, using the formula Volume = Width x Length x Height (this will always be 4 in) work out the volumes of your possible tubs, measuring the tubs width and length in inches. When you find the one that the application of the formula gives you something like 1010.6 you will have found the right tub.
c) Alternatively, use http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/7803673#7803673
