Not really depending on the snow. Deep powder makes it hard, if the snow is packed at all it's not too bad. But quite boring either way if you ask me. Although at times that's the only way possible to get to a buddies cabin or something if you don't have a snow machine.

i have used snowshoes regularly during deer season. havent had to use em much the last few years due to warming. used em a couple yrs ago for trout fishing in the BWCA. (no motorized travel). i was never bored snowshoeing. i was to busy huffing to be bored. I've had 'em fer years and all of my kids grew up using 'em. they were not bored either. we each have a set of Bear Paws.

Good to hear.
A friend and I were thinking of getting a newer style with an aluminum frame, and using them to explore the wilderness in the hills around our city. The winter landscape can be really surreal... I just wonder if we have enough snow to justify them?
