yea i have the same question.. here's 2 pics of mine, about a week after casing.


temp: 76 F terrarium moisturized 3-4x a day
is everything fine or is there reason to worry?

They look good, I think. I bet you'll start seeing pins in a few days, especially on the right side of the top picture.

stop laying stuff on top!
its normal to grow into the casing layer, how much varies quite a bit... but its not unusual to see mostly white and little black when its about ready to pin (i.e. mycelium poking through to untouched casing material on the surface). the whole idea of casing and pinning strategy is letting your grow know its now "above ground" and can produce fruitbodies there. that's where full colonization, light, fresh air all come in. by adding additional layers of casing on you're delaying it - effectively pushing it back "under ground" and its still colonizing that casing material looking for a place to pin.
the best way to go about the situation is leave the thing alone and let it go. it probably would have pinned by now had you not worried and fussed with it

just to confirm that everything is going great..here's a new pic!

i went and got a humidifier and an air pump, makes things so much easier!

Check your cookies and registry before and after opening a pic from image shack. Personally, I object to tracking software being installed on my machine. I won't open pictures from there. RR
