Sudden wave of doubt

I am days away from my first fruit ever and am very nervous as you could imagine. I have invested a lot of time and studying ( read two books (psilocybin cubensis and the Mushroom Grow Guide), both very helpful among all the internet literature) so i want to cover all angles. Anywho onto the question of course. I was reading another post where it was stated that too damp of substrate cakes will not pin, is this true and what can i do if i feel they are too wet, now days before fruiting, to dry them out? I know you can squeege them out a little but will this suffice? Thanks - Guy
ps- few things to note of my process if you would like to comment:
- dunking but not rolling -3 cakes out of jars, 3 left in (during fruiting) ( test production of both methods) -10% - 90% water h202 mix ( very succesful so far, mild and safe for the fungus) -

How damp can they be? I mean, you dunked them, that's pretty freekin' damp... what did you do after the dunk? Have you been spraying the hell out of them?
I say rinse, roll and mist the new verm. Or, just fan the living daylights out of them - or, just leave them alone.

im not sure what you mean by damp.
When fruiting its important to have alot of moisture, in the form of high RH and having the substrate well hydrated. Which i why we dunk n roll. The verm should be kept moist.
What u dont want is standing water on your cakes, but if its nicely rolled in verm then any moisture will get soaked into the verm and the shrooms get it when they need it (also helps with pinning)
The only time i can think of having a damp cake being bad, is in the colinisation stages, overly wet substrate can slow growth and stall and in some cases cause wet rot.
2 damp of a substrate, and growth will slow and possibly stall.
As long as your not misting the heck out of your cakes directly they will be fine, and with the verm on them u can mist lightly at the cakes so the verm soaks it up.
