dosage for the insensitive

my wife has tried shrooms 3 times. the first time she took an amount (from the same harvest) that would get me to a "level 2" and a friend to a "level 3" trip. she felt absolutely nothing. she was freshly off an SSRI antidepressant at the time, so i figure it blocked the shrooms. 6 months later she tried 3.5g of cubes. she felt only a headache and a bit of anxiety. fast forward another 6 months and she tries 20g of fresh ps.cyanescens pins i picked (much more potent than cubes). she reported bright colors, a little dizziness, and a headache. but she felt great the next day. the same amount would have knocked me into the next world.
i have now dried, ground and encapsulated the season's ps.cyanescens pickings, and sampled 1g myself of the standardized powder, and had a level 3 trip: very potent!
she'd like to try a largish dose so she can finally experience a decent trip and hopefully help with her ongoing depression (she's still off the antidepressants), but as it seems like she's a horse in terms of tolerance, i am nervous about advising her to try ~2.5g of this super-potent stuff for a first "real" experience. i'm afraid that her sensitivity might not be linear, and she could be overwhelmed in a bad way if there's some "tipping point" where large doses overcome high tolerances with a vengeance.
any advice or experiences to share? stick with moderate doses settling for light effects or go for a massive dose in hopes of medium effects?

Some people just dont trip sometimes..
Just increase the dose a little bit and see what happens.. Make her some mushroom tea, some mushroom chocolates..
When I get people fucked up I experiment and see which way will make my friends the happiest as can be

Well you should probably take into consideration that she is going through depression and if its even a smart thing to do to be giving her mushrooms. But I obviously don't know the circumstances at all so I'm just hoping you've thought of that. As for dosage, if shes been consistanly tolerant, I would say go for the larger dose, as long as you are with her the whole time in case things get too intense for her. Good Luck. Happy Tripping

Just have her eat 1.5g, then wait a little bit, see how she feels, and eat more if necessary.

Give her 3 grams. She'll be fine. Let her blast into the next dimension.

She isn't "going through depression" but rather has been low-level depressed for the 21 years we've been together (she says it's been her whole life). SSRI antidepressants helped her avoid her lows but also robbed her of any highs; she was totally flat, and the side effects like zero sex drive, insomnia, weight gain, and ADDICTION suck. The prospect that periodic psilocybin treatment might regulate her serotonin levels as effectively as daily SSRIs without the side effects are the main draw. I am in a strangely stable fine mood for _weeks_ after my trips, and it seems I'm not alone.

Acid has helped me recover from my depression.

That sucks for your girl and you.. I would just say boost the dose up 3.5 plus.. 1/8 will always get my tripping..
Also I have known people on anti-depressents and gave them mushrooms and even LSD and they enjoyed it and thanked me for taking them with me on a trip to another world..
All circumstances are different though..
Best of luck !

we started her out on 2g, with the idea of boosting to 3g after 40 minutes if she wasn't feeling much. the kicker wasn't necessary. she spent most of the next 4 hours crying with an occasional smile, and reported some mild visuals, but today she's feeling great, in spite of PMS. she says they amplified the PMS-iness. she had a lot of nausea and sinus congestion/runny nose (?!) too. again let me emphasize that 3.5g of cubes have had next to no effect on her: these were ps.cyanescens (many pins) i hunted here in town myself, that i infer to be as strong as some ps.azurescens. a friend tried .5g and was laughing hysterically for hours. i think 2g would be >level 5 for most people. she says she wants to try a stronger dose in 6 mos. maybe via tea enema to dodge the nausea?

Get her to smoke some weed after taking them. I have repeatedly found that smoking up kicks the shrooms in and sends me to orbit. Try that.

Maybe she should try acid or mescaline. Psilocybin doesn't really work for me either.
