...can this God make a rock so big that he/she can not lift it himself/herself?...meaning that this God can no longer do anything/everything.

And so falls apart the traditional Aristotelian view of God. Fortunately, it has no relevance to the Process view of God, which in many ways seems to correspond more to the Bible.

Its just a paper tiger. Its really impossible to pin god down, as I have said in other threads (and somehow have been disagreed with, which normally doesn't last long).

Debating god is a waste of time IMO. But it fills up space here and if it isn't god it will be greeies from outerspace.

the first religions had many gods, correct? there are probably hundreds (maybe more) polytheistic religions
well one day, they decided to make a NEW god, an all powerful, all knowing god (yes, much like SANTA) what does the Christian god and the gods of hinduism have in common?
they dont exist!
thats why im an atheist NOT agnostic

I used to be an atheist before I realized that atheisim was just as bad as any other religion. You can never say a god doesn't exist without the use of faith. I don't believe in god any more than I did when I was an atheist, but I call myself agnostic because I realize the idiocy of doing otherwise.

Atheism is a defense response to the idea of god, therefore it creates lots of paranoid and anxious feelings. It is no better than religion because both of these attitudes are extremes.

creates lots of paranoid and anxious feelings? i'm sorry but thats what happened to me when i believed in god
if i believed: OMG god is watching me constantly, i have to make sure i dont sin, he is watching me poop and jack off am i going to go to heaven? hell? im so scared of getting judged
being an atheist means i dont have to worry about any of that nonsense

same here. i dont see how someone could say "there is no god, it's a fact" or "there is a god, it's a fact", it's like saying "when i flip this penny, it WILL land on heads", to my knowledge there's no way of knowing for sure.
but however, i have noticed things many many many times throughout my life that do have me leaning more towards theism. could be coincidence, maybe not. i sure hope there's a god.

There are many Devas. Not A God. People from Judeo-Christian background think very linearly, either one god or none, but they cannot consider many Gods, or Goddesses.
I am Buddhist. I believe that even devas share basic emptiness of sentience free of object. Thus, both no God, and many Gods. Exist - don't exist. It's really a different way of think rather than an answer to a question.

I consider truth to be god personally. Its not the anthropromorphic giver and taker that we see in many religions, but I think at least in some sects of Buddhism truth takes the role of god.

What you have there is a fine opinion of god. Not a fact though, so you might want to choose your wording more carefully, or it looks like you are asserting it as fact.

lol, just like xFrockx said, your probley agnostic. atheist means that you do not believe in god at all. theist means that you believe in at least one god. agnostic means that you believe that while you are human, there is no way to know if there is or is not a god.
the main thing that makes me agnostic is all the different religions. there are so many and many have there own little branches that disagree with there own. hope is what makes me lean towards theism.
i do have a master idea though that makes sense to me, but however, i of course dont know

I personally was brought up in a Lutheran setting but all throughout grade school(I attended a private Lutheran school till 8th grade) I look at the bible and always had reservations about it. Then I got into high school and made friends with a few atheists and I shared my reservations and soon I came to think that the Christian god was made up. (Well of course he's made up. Like Atheist said a couple posts above me)
Anyway what I'm getting at is that I sat down one day and thought about it and realized if there is some divine power out there watching over us, it obviously doesn't give a shit about the stuff we do or else I'm pretty sure the human race would get wiped out. So my mentality is that if there is something that created us, cool, thanks.
