I have a stack of newspaper that I've decided to try and grow on (Cubensis, maybe oyster??) I've decided to make this an outdoors grow this late spring/summer. Has anyone done this? Should I soak the newspaper with weak coffee..any other ideas? I'm going to either put the papers in a big trash bags (well vented) or cover with straw. I've got a while to work out a plan.. What does everyone think?

It's a dainty mushroom. I like to saute them up in a white wine/garlic cream sauce and serve over grilled shrimp. Best flavor comes from growing them on hardwood sawdust/chips, supplemented with wheat or rice bran. RR

I have bags of doug fir chips. Should I use oak/alder for the lions mane and shiitake?
I can get a 2+ cubic foot bag of fir for 5 bucks. The little ass bags of oak are 5$+
