using florescent lighting for this space to grow?(PICS)

I was thinking of using northern lights...
can i do this using flourescents? would they provide enough lumens for the area? I worked it out to be.
Fluorescents: 60-70 lumens/watt so 100watt flouresent = 7000 lumens 7000/1.78= 3932 lumens per foot
Would this be enough?

100W=not enough. but a few of those will work.

Yeah. just make sure they've got an OK spectrum for flowering(look up some diagrams, there are posts in this forum that discusses that)
I personally hold HPS to be better suited for MJ growing but fluoros work.

You could fit two four foot flouros on the sides and a 2 foot flouro on the top and add little CFLs as you get some spare money. It'd start to get fairly bright in there.

would i be able to grow a decent amount using this setup?
I don't want to use fluorescents if they will be really crap, but it'll cost me quite a bit more to buy a HPS light.

sorry but no. compact floros will land you on about the same amount/watt when you start thinking about fixtures and stuff.

Sure. If you handle the entire thing well you could end up with about 0.5g/W or more.

i might as well get HPS then?
Mybe if i buy a HPS light i'd be able to sell a little to make back some of the cost of the equipment, depending on how many grams i end up with.

There may be other considerations that go along with getting HPS, mainly temperature issues in that small space. You might need to spring more money or get inventive on how to get that space to sit at the right temperature since HPS lights emit quite a bit of heat. It all just depends on what you want out of the grow and it's tempting to go all out but it's a balance you have to strike for yourself.

That's a reasonable way to do it. if you had a bit bigger grow-space I'd go with a 600W but if that is all you can use a 200W should cut it. You will almost certainly get over 100g/harvest from that size of a grow if you have four or five plants.

The only way to make that area efficient enough to get as much bud as it sounds like you want is to have a mother that you can clone off and flower the clones in that little space early enough. Otherwise if your plants get bushy at all you'll only be able to fit about 2 in there.
From experience I can tell you it's a waste of time to try to half-ass this sorta thing. Doing it right (proper lighting, space, nutrients) increases your yield exponentially.

I never measured my clones before flowering them, but if you're doing a size efficiency grow like a SOG or something about 2-3 weeks of fresh vegetative growth from the clones is enough before flowering. This is after they're rooted and start producing more leafs, it could take 1-2 weeks to get rooted in some cases. So a month (safe estimate) after cloning they should be flowered, it'll keep them small and still have a nice main cola bud.
