OK so here is my question. I have different stages of cakes in my fruiting chamber. Some have primordia some have pins and Hyphal knots some have nothing yet, do to colonization times. So i feel i need to mist them but i had read that misting will cause aborts if the water gets on the primordia and pins.I this true? and if true how can i remedy this problem? Someone give advice please!!!! Also I believe they will need to mist during Fruiting same situation?

yeah people say it can cause aborts..I've yet to see any hard proof, though I guess it really can't be beneficial
as wikedferret said, mist the sides, try not to get drops on your cakes

Primordia and knots can abort if they get wet, so whe u see them avoid misting, pins are a bit hardier, but might still possibly abort.
I have not noticed any problems resuming misting once they have deveoped into pins at about an inch in size.
If your cakes are hydrated and good humidity, they will doo just fine without misting for a few days.
Fanning after misting will help dry off any moisture that may have landing on the shrooms.
