Last friday I was getting daring and trying to drop in off a 4 foot ramp. I'm a skating novice. I fell on my ass three times trying this, all three times landed pretty hard. The third time I must have popped a blood vessel in my arm

I thought it was broken but an x-ray showed up OK. Needless to say this was pretty painful and still is. I didn't really expect it and wasn't wincing in pain or anything, but the doc gave me some vicodin to ease the aches&pains - even with that, it still hurts!
But, we all live & learn, and you got to start somewhere.
Do any of you skateboard? Have you ever broken bones / needed stitches / etc, as a result of boarding? Let us hear your stories! "GO BIG OR GO HOME"

I broke my back in Germany skating. I just bought my first board in a few years. I'm still a little reluctant to drop in on a nice 10 foot half pipe but I don't think that'll last long.

I had a buddy that was pretty sweet at boarding and he built his own 6ft pipe in his yard.
I didn't know shit about skate boarding but thought I'd give it a try. Not a good idea! I fell off almost immidiately and slid down the rest of the way. Next I tried it on a BMX bike and busted my ass again and that was my last attempt at the half pipe haha.

Im a skateboarder too, i must admit it has been a while though.
A few years back i used to skateboard everyday, i was ok, more of a street skater i didnt venture too much into the harder stuff.
I enjoyed doing things like kik flips and heel flips, tripple kik flips were fun too. Pop shuvits, 180,s
I got quite good at a few grinds too.
50-50, 5-0 crookeds etc and my favourite, the boardslide. I could do massive boardslides on fun box's
I progressed to half pipes to, not huge ones but about 6-7 foot one. And there was a 10 foot drop in that i conquered quite easily after learning the half pip.
Im gonna start up again.
I will never attempt crazy stuff, but drop ins i know i can do, i have really good balance.
fortunatly the worst injurys i had were twiste ankles, bruises, scrapes and cuts.
