A. Ordered Weraroa novaezelandiae spore syringe from www.sporeworks.com today B. Realized afterwards it hasnt been cultivated much (must be kind of a new discovery as psychoactive) C. Find this one to be very interesting!
So heres the plan. 1. LC light malt extract, Potato dextrose 2. Spawn Grain? Grass seed?or Wood Chips/sawdust/oatmeal? 3. Spawn to Bulk Crushed Pine cones/wood chips/oatmeal/composted manure/grass seed? 4. Case 50/50 Vermiculite/Sphagnum Peat Moss
Question? (s)? 1. What type of wood chips to use?, would oak or aspen work? Adler is hard to come by and expensive 2. What kind of a substrate "recipe" would you use? 3. What nutrient additives would you use? 4. Would a PF cake work? Im gonna try it anyway 5. Should i stick to a TEK for harvesting Psilocybe semilanceata? as they are closely related (see i did do my research first) Sorry if this seems dumb, just looking for other opinions, but I am looking to keep track of all trials and errors until a successful method of cultivating these babies is discovered ANY HELP, ADVIDE OR IDEAS WOULD BE MUCH APPRECIATED !!

i think you should treat it like an outdoor wood lover. inoculate some grain jars then spawn that to wood chips. Do not case it. I bet it is a pain in the ass to grow indoors.
Good luck, you are going to need it.

Yhink it will fruit without a casing? its mostly found in the wild under leaves and rotting underbrush or growing from tree stumps. I also have looked into a few woodlover TEKs and i do think that is the route to go myself. I will keep everyone up to date on the grow once it starts... who knows i may end up writing up a TEK for these

i will tell you HOW TO DO IT and if i do not answer any of your five questions then it means that they are irrelevent.
spores to agar, any agar mix. transfer/isolate to agar agar to grain spawn wbs at any water:seed ratio will be fine Colonized seed to alder/oak/fir chips. Fir is the cheapest
Build your outdoor beds no wider than you can reach across and no more then 3-4 inches deep of wood chips.
Put a light layer of grain spawn at the bottom of these beds before you apply the chips. water the beds with direct water 1-2 times a week during the summer. plant some wheat grass seed late in the fall.
They should be good to go
No casing, no nutrient additives, no pf cakes, do not try to fruit indoors. it might be a waste of time.
Here are your wood chips. 5 bucks a bag, a lot cheaper than alder.

that helps shed a bit of light on the subject.
What is the main difference between Indoor and outdoor fruitings, and what is the benefit of fruiting outdoor vs indoor
i would have to wait for spring to build outdoor beds unless these mushies like the cold and snow which I doubt

i am assuming on the indoor frutiing. it is harder to keep stuff cold in a warm house. I was told that they have the same growth requirements as sra. These actually like colonizing substrate at cooler temps also.
These do not go from mycelium to fruitbodies as quickly as oysters. They need to adapt and mate.
They also need a weather/climate/temp change. Keeping them warm 80-90+ and then dropping the temps to 40-50's indoors will be hard but it can be easily done by mother nature. Dropping these temps indoors isnt an over night thing. its gradual, a few weeks, once again better for outside.
Growing cold weatehr species indoors is not unheard of but it is a lot tougher then tropical mushrooms.
I would do an outside patch and let it go crazy. Contams are not usually an issue outside. So you cna just spawn the grain to wood chips and water a few times per week during the summer and it will grow

would using tubs that fit in a refrigerator and fruit out in a refrigerator. I got an extra side by side with a working fridge side and a broken freezer side that is going to be my new incubator soon. Think that would be worth giving a try?

if your plans are to fruit in the fridge then those tubs should be fine. Just drill some holes near the bottom so that the o2 can fall out.
