Question for RogerRabbit

RogerRabbit, As I said in my previous post, I used your DVDs as a guide to getting my first grow up and running. All is going very well so far! I expect to birth my cakes in about 10 days (almost all of them are VERY close to 100% colonization).
My question is, when the cakes are in the fruiting chamber with the holes and the perlite (exactly as is shown in your DVDs), is it pretty much a "set it and forget it" deal until they start pinning? What do I have to do to maintain that setup to see optimum results?
I hope this isn't a ridiculous question... I'd be much obliged if you could help me out with this -- all your advice so far has led to nothing but outstanding results and I'm just looking for a bit more guidance here.

as far as what to do to maintain it if the humidity drops put more water in the perilite
and no its not a rediculious question its better to ask and feel dumb then to be afraid of feeling dumb and not ask resulting in failure

You'll want to mist as required. The holes help to prevent huge CO2 buildups, but you'll still want to fan whenever you think of it. Provided the other pinning triggers are met, fresh air exchange is extremely important for a good pinset. Along with lots of fresh air, comes a tendency for the substrate to dry out, and this moisture must be replaced by misting. Good luck. RR

Ahh, okay, so I'll just keep a close eye on them and mist as necessary, which will vary from climate to climate.
Thanks for the reply!
