I got a Borders gift card for Christmas, and here's what I picked up:
"The World Without Us" Alan Weisman; Hardcover
"Mycelium Running: How Mushrooms Can Help Save the World" Paul Stamets; Paperback
"Beavis and Butt-head - The Mike Judge Collection, Vol .2" Bevis & Butt-Head; DVD
"The Republican War on Science" Chris Mooney; Hardcover
"Screenprinting: The Complete Water-Based System" Robert Adam; Hardcover
I spent hours agonizing over what to get; I think this is a nice well-rounded group of items!

Sounds like some good books. I got Mycelium Running as a birthday gift not too long ago. Haven't read much of it yet but it looks really cool just skimming through it.

I'm mostly excited to read about the water-based screenprinting. The only screenprinting I know how to do uses toxic chemicals. So it would be nice to find a way to make prints at home that don't require me to use such caustic materials.
And the Beavis & Butthead dvds should be fun as well.

That's a fun trip to the store right there.

Actually, I never left my house!
I'm feeling kind of ill today, my throat is all kinds of swollen and scratchy and fucked up. I didn't feel like going anywhere, but I had nothing else to do, so I dug up the gift cards I got for christmas and did some online shopping.
I did save one of the gift cards though so I can actually make a trip to the physical store and pick out some clothing. Nice clothing isn't something you want to buy without trying it on first...

This one's a very good read. I'm over half through with it and loved every page of it. It's very informative but Weisman presents it in such a way that it doesn't overload you. It makes you think about how much we've botched with this world and how much we will continue to screw it up despite being aware of our wrongdoings.

Nope, the gift card came from his aunt & uncle. He ended up getting me a portable dvd player and volume 3 of the Beavis & Butthead dvds. I already had volume 1, and he couldn't find volume 2 (but you may notice I just bought vol.2 with my handy dandy gift card!)
That portable DVD player will come in extremely handy when we travel down to see my daughter, most definitely.
