most of these "detox" scams are based on real ideas (purging to rid body of toxins - introducing helpful bacteria to intestines) but with a little time investigating, you can find remedy's to rid yourself of toxins w/o having to buy chemically treated pads.
I like a 3 day rice diet to empty me out of toxins/food allergies, and eating a lot of flax seed to cleanse my guts.

processed foods, microwaves, TV dinners and sterilization is the only reason we're needing it, it boils down to knowing what you injest

i agree - the best way to stop toxins from building up - is to stop ingesting them.

The feet are a very sweaty part of the body - it would be all too easy to treat a pad with a chemical that responds to the acidity of sweat. With repeated use, the browning will lessen as the chemical evaporates with use. The placebo effect is extremely powerful and if you think you feel better - you WILL feel better.
Seems like a simple enough scam.
OoD
"Simply place ONE PAD on the SOLE of your FOOT (or a targeted body part such as the shoulder or knee) before going to bed. By morning, the pad will have absorbed toxins accumulated in your body, turning the white pad to a shade from gray to black. Use a fresh pad each night until the color on the pad becomes lighter and lighter when removed in the morning."
You can put it in a few different places, and you use a fresh one each night. I don't doubt that this is a scam, I just want to know how it all works.

seems like "activation, by way of sweat setting off some sort of reaction" works for me.
BTW - why so interested? just curious.

will do. so, when i smoked, i tried jogging a few times but i just ran and didn't try to start out slow. when i did this, my heart ached really bad. sometimes when i workout now, my heart aches in the same way. could this be permanent damage to my heart or is it something that will eventually go away.

Alright we need some real evidence to back up the skepticism. Its an easy way to conclude something without looking into it. I am a skeptic of skepticism.

Not all that interested really, I just like to research things to no end, like beating a dead horse. Anyone with a brain knows it's a scam, but knowing how the mechanism works is going one step beyond. Knowledge is power.

"Without question, the Takara Detox Foot Patch delivers on its promises. Utilizing the original Takara formulation, the patch effectively drew toxic substances from the body markable better than the competition in our opinion. Obtaining the highest toxin discharge for the individuals in our testing group, the Takara Detox Foot Patch also was also superior in a lab analysis report; including high levels of mercury, lead, asbestos, microbial parasites, and chemicals agents as well as numerous other toxic materials. Health improvements were surprisingly very dramatic for some in our test group (30 day analysis period), while the rest experienced a more modest benefit in vitality and health during the same time frame. But in all cases, a measurable personal health benefit was realized for each participant. Sufficient to say we highly recommend the Takara Detox Foot Patch as a natural approach to assist in detoxification."
Although its encouraging to think that this thing works because they found heavy metals, it just makes me hope that the foot pads didn't start with heavy metals in them in the first place.
