Chewed salvia

I've read many times that salvia can be chewed to reach a milder and more pleasant effect yet I've found nothing that describes what the experience is like other than those few vague words. Can anyone help me out with this? I've searched all over the internet and could not find any reports of these effects.
I've smoked 20x and I didn't like it the 3 times I'd done it (I never broke through tho, the come up was too uncomfortable)and I've been looking into attempting to chew it to reach a slower and hopefully more pleasant effect but I want to know what I can before attempting this. Does anyone have any experiences with this method?

It's highly possible. To be more specific, I did enjoy the 3rd time using it, there was only one thing I didn't really enjoy about it, but it felt too alien to really make the rest of the trip enjoyable because I focused on why I had the feeling.
While it may be just as uncomfortable, every time is different. I just keep finding contradicting information and would like to try to get my facts straight about the effects of chewing salvia. One source I ran across said that even tho it takes more to reach effects it's exactly like smoking it (other world(s) it was referring to) and yet another source says it's completely different (seeing things such as in both "regular" psychedelics as well as seeing things one's imagination shoots out) and less uncomfortable, more pleasant. I mainly want to know what it's really like without having to fuck myself over from experimenting (what I mean is doing too much, basically just safety for my mental health). Especially if what you said is true

Because it is ingested,, i assume the come up would be a bbit slower, which would give u time to prepare. I figure its kina like weed brownies, less intesnse, but longer lasting with more of a body load. But I have not tried it, i am basing this on erowid.

I tried erowid and other places, but every place I've found just uses the generalized summaries and no experiences with the method I'm interested in. I'm looking for more than generalizations, more of what I could expect. such as examples so I know how intense it is/can be.
That did help a little, but I've never had weed brownies, only weed.

Or you could try it yourself, and make a trip report. If you have access to it and are considering it i guess u may as well try it. I guess not that many people with the internet have tried this method. Smoking it sure is intense.

I like chewing salvia. Like many I am anxious about entering such an absurd dimension, and chewing spreads the experience out over a much longer period of time, which I find makes it much more comfortable and also easier to digest. I also find the physical contact (i.e. a big mouthful of leaves) quite grounding in a ridiculous kind of way as well.
The effects can be quite subtle with raw leaves though so depending on how far out you like to venture some kind of extracted product might be necessary, or perhaps try combining them with something else. On the comeup of some kind of psychedelic is nice I think.
A half decent analogy is that smoking salvia is like nitrous oxide whereas chewing it is like ketamine. happy travels!

It's a warm sensation in the stomach, and a subtle boat-legs type of feeling and mentality, best in the dark. It's a great primer for smoked salvia and mellows the come-up IMO. Takes a huge mouthful of fresh leaves for me to get a good effect though.

the leaves are so damn bitter though
I've always wanted to have a successful oral trip but never had the stomach for it. the taste tends to build in the back of your mouth, and even when you spit it out it lingers forever.
