is my cake contaminated? :(
    #7810261 - 12/29/07 11:18 AM (16 years, 1 month ago)

I woke up this morning to this grey streak on my cake. I was handling it last night because I picked about 8 mature mushrooms. I just wanted to make sure before I threw it out. I assume I am going to have to.

Q tip that shit, see it comes off the cake.

Better yet, search q tip and read how others use this mentiod to determine mold.

It doesn't really look like mold. Use the Q tip, and even if it does turn out to be mold, I'm pretty sure you would still be able to harvest most of those mushrooms.

I don't know but I've been told. It's hard to run with the weight of gold                                                                  On the other hand I heard it said. It's just as hard with the weight of lead.

oh, and it were spores from the freshly picked mushrooms, wouldn't it fail the Q Tip test as well? Considering it would be spores and not a bruise on the mycelia

Those are spores, if you picked mature mushrooms recently then they would probbaly have drop some spores, those cakes look really healthy.

DO NOT USE H202,

H202 IS ONLY EFFECTIVE IN THE FIGHT AGAINST COBWEB, NOTHING ELSE.
